Trying to Transfer in Spring 2019- A Couple of Questions

Hey guys,

I am applying to transfer into Cornell for the Spring 2019 semester. I’ve began to work on the common app and I have a few questions.

Firstly, can I send in my official transcript to the college before I send in my application? I know this may be a stupid question, but any answer would be appreciated.

Additionally, is the supplemental essay the same thing as a personal statement? On the common app there is a separate section for a personal statement, writing sample, and the 650 word college essay- are all these the same thing?

Lastly, there are a ton of additional documents on the common app that aren’t required. These include resume, catalog course descriptions, license, college/high school transcripts (Which I will submit via email directly), work sample, writing sample, test score reports, and unofficial transcript. Do I need to fill any of these out besides transcripts. I will already be posting most of my resume under my achievements section, so I don’t think it’s necessary.

Any help would be great,

Thanks!

hey, I have the same questions. The common app has been updated this year, and I am so confused about some parts. In the previous version, there is HS transcript requesting form that we need to fill out and send with our transcript, but now, I couldn’t find it. I think the school website asks us to send HS/college transcript directly from any institution, so uploading by yourself may not be an official way. You have to check the requirements again. Good luck

The process is really stressful!

I’m confused too! I’m going to contact someone tomorrow about it.
