Trying to transfer to MSU

I am currently a freshman at the University of Rhode Island and i have applied to Michigan State University for transfer. My first semester i came out with a 2.6 GPA. Now I am currently in my second semester and am taking the required classes to transfer. I am taking six regular classes and one lab and i'm on track to come out with above a 3.5GPA. Now my fall semester i took the required math class and came out with a C- and since MSU only transfers a 2.0 credit, will i have to take the math class over the summer? Also how good do you think my chances are at getting accepted? Don't be afraid to be honest
