Trying to Transfer to UB with a 1.9 gpa? I have an explanation tho

So I am a hockey player, graduated hs in 2016, and every hockey player after high school plays juniors before you commit to a college team, for developmental reasons. When you play juniors you can either get a job for your spare time or go to a community college part time. I choose to go to community college part time (MCC) but in the middle of the semester I suffered from a serious concussion and it sat me out for the rest of the season and I missed a whole month of school because of it. And my gpa plummeted to a 1.9…I am currently in the middle of the second semester and all my grades are in the A and B range, I completely quit hockey because of injury reasons…And I applied to transfer UB (University at Buffalo) for the Fall 2017 semester. The deadline for it was May 1st. One good thing about this is that I’m only part time at MCC so I have alot of space to boost that GPA but will UB even accept me or have any sympathy? I wrote them a personal statement explaining why my gpa is so god awful. I looked it up and saw that the minimum gpa to transfer to UB is like a 2.5. Is it too late to get my gpa up before they can admit me? Will they give me enough time to raise my gpa after the second semester which ends May 25th or do I have no hope of transferring in the Fall?

Did you also submit a doctor’s note documenting the injury? I think if you submit that, along with your high school grades (assuming they are decent) you should have no problem getting in.
