The top half of the page has a table with minima and testing and transcript requirements for each of the different undergraduate programs.
The bottom half has minimum scores for SAT, ACT, and each of the different SAT subject tests. Those values seem a bit lower than for any of the values in the table at the top of the page. Why the difference? What is the bottom table for?
I’m pretty sure that the bottom table is minimum requirements for McGill in general. Most faculties have bars that are set higher, but you will see some faculties that say “SAT/ACT per minimum requirements.”
McGill admits by program. The level of selectivity varies significantly. I believe the only programs that use the standard minima are education and agriculture. Students can apply to two programs on the application e.g. management (most selective) and arts/economics (less selective). A student may be admitted to one but not the other. Once admitted transfer to another program can only be done at the end of first year and will be based on first year performance.
Hey everyone I just saw that for Bachelor of Arts one of the minima is B+ in every English. I have a 86 in one of my English course (AP), does it matter when I apply. Assume I’ve met every else requirements.
@mom2022 Use the top table as your guide. If any of the numbers are lower on the bottom, use the ones on the top table. I just went through this process last year with my oldest son (now a U0 in the Faculty of Arts) and will be going through this next year with my youngest son who has his sights set firmly on McGill. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Happy to share our experience (which was positive!).
