Tufts Class of 2020 RD Applicants

@shelby247 Can you remind me what is the 1+4 Bridges program? Thanks

@JDBoi78 - Last year decisions were released on March 30th at 3pm, and the year before it was March 28th at 2pm . I saw somewhere that last year it was 3pm in the applicant’s local time (ie. waves) to ensure that the site would not crash. So people in CA, for example, actually got theirs at 6pm EST or 3pm PST. Not sure if this is true or will happen this year though.

Nope - that was always there right under the interview request tab.

Hi @shelby247 an ED1 2020 Jumbo here! Don’t worry, everyone has the 1+4 option available and they ask if you’re interested. All totally normal. Good luck!

@londondad It’s a gap year program where you take a year off doing various activities (usually service ones) and then go to Tufts, graduating with the class of 2021. Best of luck!

@sodapop027 My ED1 decision was released at 3pm (I live on the east coast). Not sure if it’s local time though.

Hi! Does anyone know how influential legacy at Tufts is? My brother was a graduate (2015) at the top of his class and well known amongst the professors. Wondering how far this gets me…

@sodapop027 Just found out some new news: apparently they release it time-zone based!

“We will release decisions by time zone starting this afternoon at 3 p.m. Eastern; decisions for students in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Australia and Asia will also be released at 3 p.m. Eastern. In response to concerns from many guidance counselors about the disruptive aspect of admission decisions being released during the school day, we added the time zone waves to avoid releasing decisions while students were still in class in the Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones.”

@lawrencethejumbo - well it looks like I will try the classic VPN trick since I’m on the West Coast, but that’s only if they release the same way that they did last year. By using VPN’s I got my AP scores 3 days early last year, but I’m not sure that will work for Tufts since it seems like it’s based on applicants logged location, not their current location. I guess I might as well try though…

@sodapop027 That’s a creative way to get things earlier! I guess you’ll see if it works or not; good luck.

@sodapop027 it’s probably based off of the location we applied from- at least that’s how other universities do it! Tufts may be different.

A warning to anyone who read @lawrencethejumbo’s post: that comment was from last year, so while the decisions are probably still location-based, they aren’t tomorrow!

Does anyone know when results might come out??

@lizard27 Should be between March 28th and the 31st (based on previous years)

I’m gonna go with a March 28th at 3 pm prediction because it was a Monday last year. It was Friday the two years before, but that would mean the date is either March 25th (too early I think) or April 1st (too late).

My prediction is the 30th. Not sure why but I’m sticking with it

Does anyone know stats regarding Tufts’ acceptance rates for early/RD?

@matildak6 according to Lee Coffin, Tufts expects to enroll a class of 1325 this fall of which ED will constitute roughly half of the class. Assuming all ED applicants enroll, roughly 662 students will come from ED which leaves the same number of spots for RD applicants. This year, 2070 students applied ED thus, the early acceptance rate should be around 30-32%. As for RD, we wouldn’t be able to find that since we have no figures on RD’s yield rate. Tufts is becoming more competitive than ever and with each passing year, it becomes more difficult to get in. Hope this helps and Good Luck!

The yield rate last year was 27%

@vh1818 Not sure where you got your info; it says 44% here:
