A big congratulations to people who were accepted to tufts today!!! And for people who were deferred/rejected, I understand how you feel right now(i got a rejection letter today too). Hey! Good luck it seems like you have a really good chance at getting in, I just sent in my app yesterday rip I’ll post stats later though, good luck to everyone else too!

@rhyiel WOW congrats for submitting the app early! I don’t know… I just got deferred from my math school(Northeastern) sigh…
But best of luck to you and everyone else!

oh omg I applied to Northeastern too I figured it’d be around a match for me but if you got deferred with those stats im not so confident anymore ha…did you submit your app yet? I submitted all of my materials but I haven’t gotten an email yet with a pin for the app checklist portal I really want to request an interview asap also my stats aren’t that great so I won’t do a full on list, my ACT score is a 31, gpa is a 3.6 unweighted (rest in peace!!) I have two extracurriculars and about 100 or so volunteer hours…I am applying to the school of engineering though and as a female I guess that might give me somewhat of a boost? I’m really in love with tufts academic programs, I want to be a neural engineer and most colleges don’t have majors in it, so I’d just major in computer engineering and cognititve and brain sciences I guess.

I checked the thread for northeastern and people who have higher stats than I do also got deferred, but some who had lower stats got in!! :o (so you never know!!) ha ha … i still have to work on the supplement lol
you should totally do an interview if you feel confident!! (i’m not requesting one because i feel like i’m gonna get choked up and do really badly since i get nervous easily haha) your ACT score is average for Tufts so it’s fine!! To be honest, my unweighted GPA is 3.5 (rip x100) but since i’ve taken alot of AP’s, it helped to boost my weighted gpa (Tufts uses weighted GPA if your school provides one.) I’m thinking about majoring in biopsychology! I’ve actually thought about majoring in cognitive and brain sciences too, but i’m gonna go with my first choice. Honestly, college admissions are so random you never know if you’re gonna get in, so I’m not sure if both of us could get into Tufts(it’d be really nice if we did get accepted), but definitely good luck!!

did you guys get denied from tufts and you’re applying again?! or did I read that wrong…

@Krose97 we’re applying for ED II hahah

So I heard it’s much harder to get in ED II than ED I to Tufts. Does anyone have confirmation on that/ is that wrong information? I got rejected from Penn, and Tufts is now my top choice! My supplements are done… so all I have to do is click submit, unless there’s a super low ED 2 acceptance…

When I read reports from Tufts about last year’s early decision rounds, it appeared that for ED 1, about 530 were accepted from around 1,800 applications. Then, another 70 were accepted in ED 2. The only hitch is that the number for the ED 2 pool was not clear to me. One might suppose that 2 is a bit more difficult than 1 as far as the acceptance rate goes, but that’s just not definite.

Oh, the link to what I had seen was recently posted on another nearby thread:

http://tuftsdaily.com/news/2015/01/20/record-early-decision-pool-marks-continued-pattern-selectivity/

I’m also worried. Does it mean not so many people apply ed2?

It doesn’t look like they take many people in EDII. Does anyone know from experience if people get deferred from EDII into RD? It would seem to me that given the application deadlines, the school would know what its RD pool looked like so wouldn’t have to defer – they know whether they’ve got better candidates to fall back on – but logic doesn’t always seem to dictate the practices on this.

Just submitted EDII app! Who else has applied?

@chromodynamics i’m applying for ED II too and i have yet to submit my app …
do you mind sharing your stat? and maybe chance me based on my stat above??

I submitted my ED2 app yesterday! @pastalover0495 If it helps you out, you can go to my profile to see my test scores/gpa/ec’s etc. Hoping for the best but trying not to get too excited as that 70 number really does seem so low…
