I noticed in the Tufts catalog online that a maximum of 5 prematriculation credits (from AP exams and the like) can be obtained upon entering the school. Does anybody know: If you have 6 credits worth, hypothetically, can you obtain 5 prematriculation credits and place out of a lower level class with that 6th credit but simply not get college credit for it? For example, if you use receive your 5 prematriculation credits but also have a 5 on the AP Chemistry exam and wish to place out of intro chemistry, would this be something possible or impossible with accordance to the rule if it were not one of the 5 prematriculation credits achieved from standardized exams?
I know that this will all be answered in time, but I was wondering if anybody here on CC could enlighten me a bit. Thanks.

I am pretty sure that’s the way it works. My son (home on break) is nocturnal and won’t be down for a few hours or I’d ask him!
