Tufts RD 2022

@anotherdooropens I’m so sorry you’re facing rejections - it’s really hard to not take this stuff personally! Is this your last school or do you have other choices? My daughter mostly applied to highly selective schools and while her stats are great, I’m not sure there is anything that makes her stand out amongst other highly qualified applicants. She just got a rejection yesterday and I’m pretty sure she’s got a lot of rejections coming up.

@Happytoapply it really is! i’ve been accepted to SUNY Binghamton and SUNY Stony Brook, rejected from northeastern, UCLA, and BU so far, and waiting on Brown (man if i got in here…), Tufts, USC, Carnegie Mellon, NYU, Syracuse, UCB, UCSB, and UCI. I totally understand what you mean! I think I have pretty good stats (maybe my extracurriculars are a bit on the mediocre side), but I’m telling myself that hey, maybe the people who were accepted to the schools I was rejected to just have better stats and better extracurriculars and expressed their interest in the school more effectively. Thank you for the taking the time to respond to me! Hoping that your daughter and I both get through this difficult month and the very best of luck to her

Do Tufts ever send out likely letters?

@anotherdooropens - you have a choice at least! When my D got into one school, I said, “now you know you’re going to college” and when she got a second acceptance I said, “and now you’ve got a choice”. Some of those still in front of you are really tough to get into (e.g. Carnegie Mellon), same with my D (Northwestern, Columbia). Brace yourself!

the waiting is actually KILLING ME

I’m so nervous

I know it’s real stressful, but y’all should stop worrying. Do what you want to in the next 9-ish days. Ask that guy/girl out to prom, hit up a concert with your friends, or break that school track quick record (without letting your GPA fall below abysmal lol). Before you know it, it’ll be fall and you’ll be at Tufts here or another great school. Just make senior year memorable!

@

While I agree that it would be great if everyone could chill as Dawala282 suggested, this is a place where you CAN express your nerves if you need to. I’ve been checking several RD co 2022 sites for different schools my D applied to and many are filled with people just saying how nervous they are - it’s kind of nice to have that shared experience rather than going at it alone.

@Happytoapply Ah you seem like a great parent :’) Yep, I’m slowly easing myself into the idea that I might go to a SUNY and that’s totally okay

@anotherdooropens It’s not over until you hear from all the schools! And…if you end up at a SUNY you may be perfectly happy. Part of school is about what they have to offer and part is what you make of it. You can probably be really happy with many different options. (and thanks for the kind words)

What are the odds of Tufts coming out Friday?

@Happytoapply thanks for the advice  i’ll be waiting patiently

@clvmsy This Friday? Pretty low I think. Didn’t decisions come out on Ivy Day last year?

are we thinking its ivy day then?

@cavsin7 Might not be March 28 exactly, but I’m thinking around that time.

The weirdest thing happened to me yesterday. So I got an email from Tufts saying that their “Financial Aid Committee performed a preliminary review of your [my] financial aid application and found it to be incomplete.” Since we got the applicant portal in January, I’ve noticed that my CSS Profile, Parent 2016 W-2, and Parent 2016 Federal Tax Return had been marked as missing, but I was a QuestBridge Finalist so I know that I submitted all of these things back in October. I called their Financial Aid Office and explained my situation to the lady that answered. She put me on hold for a minute and then came back (with a weirdly chipper tone of voice) and said that they had everything.

Some of my friends think that this is a way for them to say that you’re accepted early, but I highly doubt it. Any thoughts guys?

no, more likely just a glitch in the system, they really don’t need to play any type of game with admissions

Good luck everyone!!!

are decisions coming out in the next few days?
