Yep I visited. In fact I showed interest in EVERY POSSIBLE way I could think of. I visited, I went to a local talk in Chicago, I had an interview, and I sent a letter saying that I would come if accepted. I guess they must have appreciated all that =)

In another post I said that I would be totally happy if I got accepted to tufts and rejected everywhere else. Well so far I have two waitlists, a rejection, and TUFTS! I guess the karma on that page had some truth to it after all, lol!

oh my god oh my god oh my god. this is SO EXCITING! Like, all my fave people got in, I'm so happy!

I hope those of you that got in choose Tufts! You will NOT regret it.

For those of you who didn't get in, do NOT worry about it. I am positive that you will be thrilled wherever you do end up.

Waitlisters - you still have a fighting chance! Send letters saying it's still your first choice and that you'll def. go there if accepted. I actually wrote a play about being waitlisted for Dartmouth and they deferred me a year, but I LOVE Tufts and no way am I transferring.

Acceptees, if you have ANY questions at all, feel free to PM me or IM me @ bluirinka (so complicated, I know). And just to tell you...today with the beautiful weather, EVERYONE was talking about how happy they are to be here :-D

4 rejections? lol i just got 6 rejections. dartmouth, cornell, brown, JHU, duke, columbia. it hurts, physically hurts. only tufts accepted me. thank god for tufts.

2150 SAT (710v, 720m, 720w), SAT IIs: 730 us hist, 650 math.
gpa: 3.85 uw (All A's all 4 years) with tons of AP classes
ECs: VP of debate, Executive Board on Habitat for Humanity, 120 or so hours of volunteer work, some drama-related things.

I'm a white girl from mass, which is probably the only reason I got waitlisted.

I am definitely disappointed right now... I thought I had a good interview, wrote an awesome extra essay, I took a summer study course, one of my 4 recommendations was from a tufts prof from that class, etc, etc. the WL is softened by my acceptances to cornell, hopkins, and wellesley.. but why did I get waitlisted at tufts? :(

*Other Stats: National Highest scores in O-Levels

Subjective:

*Essay: Funny Common app essay, GREAT TUFTS ESSAYS (atleast I think so :D), Supplementary Essay was the NYTIMES Editorial essay.
*Teacher Rec: Should be pretty good
*Counsellor Rec: That thing hates me
*Hook: Focus on my country's corporate problems through my essays: maybe it showed nationalism?

*Country: Bangladesh!!
*School: Private
*Ethnicity: Bengali/umm i dunno what they call us
*Gender: M
*Perceived Strength/Weakness: My essays and application package was perhaps really good. I put serious effort into it

bad day: 2 Rejects (Yale :( and Columbia), 4 Waitlists (Penn, Brown, Dartmouth, Princeton). I guess Tufts is going to be the likely choice for me.

Essays: I thought I did well on all the essays, I even did the optional and sent in a supplemental.

Teacher Recs: Assuming they were good because we have good relationships

Counselor Rec: see above

Hook (if any):

State or Country: CA

School Type: Private

Ethnicity: Asian

Gender: M

Perceived Strengths/Weaknesses: It had to be the SAT's because the grades have a significant upward trend. The essays showed a lot about me. I had a 3 hour interview. I also think that applying to engineering was a weakness, their prospective enrollment is around 200 students.
