Interesting findings. I’m sure you can start a lengthy thread on just the subject of choice of major vs. school selectivity as determinants of “success”. I’m a big believer in success coming from certain “soft” traits beyond intelligence and status and such, as discussed in the great Paul Tough book, “How Children Succeed: Grit, Curiosity, and the Hidden Power of Character”.

And all your reasons for liking Tufts were my D’s when it was her first choice last year. She has not been disappointed at all. Finds herself challenged, but not oppressively so. Loves the friends she’s made, the vibe, getting into Davis Sq. I wish you and all the others on the thread good news come April 1!

dang it… i just had to withdraw my tufts rd app cause of an ED ii binding… I was REALLY curious if I could’ve gotten into Tufts premed… good luck to everyone!

^I have the same question as kigzcorp. I applied ED II to Tufts and got deferred and it’s my top choice so it’s a bit nerve-wracking I guess. In terms of deferral all I know is (as Dan said on a thread), that it’s the same acceptance rate for the deferred as it is for the regular decision candidates. But surely, I think, having applied ED would have some bearing on it right?
