Hey guys,
The online thing has decisions on already.
On my front page it said that a decision had been made, on going to find out it said that the admissions committee hadn't reached a decision on my application yet.

Now on trying that page again, that line is missing.

I am a bit confused. It seems as if many people apply to Tufts because it is "transfer friendly" and I remember seeing numbers I believe in the 30 percent range for transfers last time I checked. However, collegeboard.com now has Tufts stats which say 578 students applied for transfer and only 100 were accepted. That is 17 percent, could these be the new numbers or was I just mistaken before? There are several Ivies with more generous transfer rates than that, and that would make Tufts significantly more difficult to transfer into than it it would be for freshman admission. Comments?

i definitely feel like the transfer-friendly thing is going to go down drastically after this year's stats...it seems like sooo many people have applied...

Good news for all you hopefuls. The statistics that you found on collegeboard are wrong. I just called tufts asking about those numbers and the guy responded to say that the school isn't even finished with the applicaiton process, nonetheless sent out their statistics (which they don't even have). He said those numbers are incorrect alltogether and not to worry.

well I'm assuming the numbers on collegeboard are from the last academic year (fall 2003 - spring 2004) and the numbers that were on before (which were something like 579 applied, 239 accepted, and 107 enrolled) were from the fall 2002 - spring 2003 academic year... Tufts' website states that they usually admit 20-35% of the transfer pool and even though 17% is out of this range, it's not by that much..

what worries me is that there was an increase in freshmen applicants from the fall 2002 academic year to the fall 2003 academic year , which is the same period where the transfer acceptances plummeted from 239 to 100...now if this is in anyway indicative of how transfers are dealt with, the increase in this year's freshmen applicant #'s, which topped 15,000, (which also means more were accepted because their admittance rate remained at 27%) it can mean that transfer acceptance rates will go even lower than 17%...
let's hope not!

now that I read Girlygirls post again, I fear that my concern may be based on some false info...
Girlygirl, did you mean that the transfer numbers (578 applied, 100 accepted) are incorrect, OR that the freshmen statistics for class of 2009 are incorrect?

ok, let's all breathe. In response to your question, there are no 2009 statistics yet, they are simply available or even concluded. The numbers (578 and 100) are wrong in the sense that they do not reflect the transfer statistics for the 2005 transfer class. The statistics that we would be a part of are not even completed or known. The addmissions office is not even finished going through applications.

Has no decision been made on any of you guys? What about the website?
I remember just before I got my decision I called up and asked about it, and they said that if I don't get any intimation by monday, I should call em up.

Also, my acceptance letter was dated the 14th of April.

huh? on tams when i log in it says "your admissions decision is available" that takes me to a warning screen to double check that i want to get the decision on the internet...but when i click that all i get is a signed letter by braswell saying they haven't reached a decision. that's messed up. is this happening to anyone else?

nope--- no word and it is killlinnggg mee... i really think i have a good shot though. Should I be nervous if I haven't heard anything yet? My online account still says that there is no decision.
