Tufts University Class of 2017 EDII

Between you and I, I’d rather have humid and 82 than 30 with big chunks of snow going down my jacket!

Tomorrow is going to involve some major shoveling!

<48 hours, guys :)

I wonder if the blizzard delayed the notification…

Hey, I’m new to this… but, while snowbound, I stumbled on this admirably frank overview of the problems and concerns Tuft’s “ Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid Committee “ had in 2011:

<a href=“Faculty Committees | Office of the Secretary of the Faculty - Arts, Sciences, and Engineering”>Faculty Committees | Office of the Secretary of the Faculty - Arts, Sciences, and Engineering;

It’s a fascinating read that provides some very candid insight into the big picture, but also raises a lot of questions.

Perhaps most pertinent, the report repeatedly cites Tuft’s use of an academic index in the admission process. Here’s a sample quote:

“Entering students who rank in the bottom quarter of the academic index used by Admissions have a disproportionate number of academic problems during their first semester. Is their (sic) a way that we can provide better advising and academic assistance before they begin to fail?”

Is the index still in use? If so, does anyone know how Tufts calculates the index or uses it in its holistic admission process? Are the many online calculators a fair approximation?

Dan, are you around? Can you shed some light? Good luck tomorrow everyone… I can’t wait.

I wish all of you the best of luck.

See you after 3pm?

In my usual sappy, sentimental style, I wanted to tell everyone here what an honor and great time it was to wait and/or suffer with them through the countdown to decisions.

No matter who gets in and who doesn’t, it was great to meet all of you. Hopefully, if enough of us get in, we can have a CC meetup in the spring during Jumbo Days.

Best of luck to everyone; I won’t be able to look at my decision until at least five o’clock-ish. See you on the other side. (:

This is my first post ever in College Confidential, but good luck guys!! I go to an international school in Singapore, and so I guess I’ll get my decision when I wake up the morning of the 12th Singapore time! All the best :)

So decisions are out today (Monday) for sure? Or is there a chance they may come out on Tuesday??
Good luck to everyone :D

^ Yeah, I received an email From my alumni interview who wished me good luck with “Decisions being announced on Tuesday”

Someone emailed admissions and they said Monday. If anyone else wants to email them, go ahead, but I’ve emailed them enough and I don’t want to be a pest!

If they aren’t released until tomorrow I might cry!

I really just need to know today! I have been waiting 5 months for this!!!

Tufts is open today so that’s a good sign!

Tidalwavefan, i feel the exact same way. Every time i think of the decisions i either want to hyperventilate or throw up and i don’t even know why I’m so nervous. I usually don’t freak out about things.

I dreamt that I was rejected from Tufts and felt a marvelous sense of relief and then woke up and realized decisions hadn’t been released yet.

Guys check your tams! I live in greece and im about to clickkkkk

and I’m in… no more freaking out! I hope to see a bunch of you next year.

Got rejected like a boss. It was nice meeting all of you.

same. rejected. kinda expected but dissapointing nonetheless. guess I have to wait till march…
