Tufts, UVa, NWern, WashU St. Louis, UMD honors

Good evening ccers! I heard back from the last of the last of my applications and here's what I got (where I got in):

Tufts
UVA
Northwestern
WashU St. Louis
UMD honors (in-state tuition, probably some cash too)
Brown (waiting list)

I've visited all except UVa, and I know that the feel of the school matters a ton; still, I'd be interested in you have to say as to which school would be best for a prospective student (probably in the sciences, physics particularly) in your opinion.

Hope all went well on this fateful night;

jasennett

You can’t go wrong with any of these schools, especially in the sciences. I’m biased (I go to Tufts), so I say go there! Seriously though, if any of them just FEEL right, go there. If not, Brown, Tufts, and Northwestern all have similar vibes (laid-back, students really enjoy learning, not super cutthroat competitive). Not sure what the atmosphere is like at Wustl, UVA, and UMD.

Did you apply for financial aid? If so, I’d choose UMD or one of the privates over OOS tuition at UVA - I personally don’t think OOS tuition is worth it, even at a school like UVA. If money isn’t an issue, than disregard this advice.

If you have any questions about Tufts (or Brown, I’m pretty familiar with the school), feel free to PM me!

If they’re all cheap/affordable…then push for Brown as hard as you can. Or else, go to Northwestern :)

They’ have and amazing undergrad college.

For sciences, I would choose WUSTL. Congrats!

Actually, for physics, the physical sciences - especially chemistry, and related engineering fields Northwestern is strongest across the board.

decided for tufts. no regrets. brown would be nice but im really happy with tufts; i went to the april open house and really liked the people and classes i took.

it came down to tufts and nwern, but i decided that the better academic reputation of nwern didn’t matter as much as all of the qualities i liked about tufts–boston, the size, the people, boston, and the close proximity to boston.

so… tufts it is (unless i hear back from brown).
