Visited Tufts for Jumbo days 4/19-20 - with campus shutdown spent time in hotel due to bombing tragedy so have no insights to show for visit. interested in science-biology and pre-med. tufts positives - good med school, metropolitan (not sure if this is still a plus after last several days sad events . . .), larger student body; negatives - science program likely not as strong, larger classes. Haverford - positives - strong science program, small class size, metropolitan; negatives - very very small, weak or non-existent athletics. Carleton - positives - strong science program, small class size; negatives - rural, cold, Minnesota

Cliched though it may be, I’d tell you to go with your heart. Think about where you’d be most happy the next four years and take the plunge. All three schools will put you in good stead for med school applications (should that be your ultimate path). Only you can say whether city/country, small/large, athletics/no athletics would serve you best.

If one of these would leave you with less debt and more money for Med School, choose that one. If all of the financial aspects are equivalent, you can safely choose the one you like best so far.

You have discovered how Boston-bar friendly New England really is. You went to Tufts, but missed the campus?

Sounds like Haverford would be a good choice. It has a 200 acre campus in a tony Main Line town. Haverford has D3 athletics as do the others. What are your sports?
