im really confused!!!!!!!
ive been accepted at both with full aid and am from pakistan. I am inclined towards engg, and both have the optin....with colgate i could get into that 3-2 plan at columbia!!!!!
basically, i want to know which would lead me to a better job after i graduate?????

PLZ HELP ME!!!!!!!

Tufts
no question about it.

I’m going to say Tufts since it already has the engineering school and the network for that for internships. Personally I think it is better to stay with a college that has a sustained focus on engineering.

Try contacting Colgate and find out how many students actually take advantage of the 3-2 program. It may not be a particularly easy thing to do.

Do the Colgate 3-2 plan with Columbia–best of both worlds

thnx ppl…but can u be more specific…i asked abt which produces graduates with greater pays!!!

If you apply for a job in the Boston area, Tufts will be more prestigious. If you apply for a job in the New York area, Colgate will be more recognizable. If you apply for a job in Washington DC or California or Japan or London or Cairo, it will not matter whether your diploma says “Tufts” or “Colgate” – unless a grad from either happens to have influence over your salary.

At the end of the day, your qualifications and your ability to step up will determine your place in a free society.

These are both excellent, excellent schools. You are blessed to be faced with this decision. Rather than pick one based on the potential income, you would do well to examine the campus life and decide which one is more appealing to you for the next four years.

For just undergrad, I’d suggest Tufts since its in Boston and probably more international-friendly all around. (Yes, Colgate is extremely friendly, but also extremely rural.). But, for an international prestige matters, a LOT. Thus, the 3-2 with Columbia is worthy of serious consideration, even tho Columbia’s engineering program is not highly ranked. The Columbia name alone will serve you well on the international scene.

Since I am bitter against Tufts right now, Colgate is the better choice.

Both fine choices. Location would be a key driver here. Do you want to be in Boston or far but not impossibly far from New York.

Both are equally well known. If engineering or science, given their graduate programs, I would lean toward Tufts.
