I was accepted to both but am having a tough time choosing.

Tufts has the location and reputation advantage.

I'm pretty much set on Tufts but one thing is holding me back...

I want a classic college experience, socially, as well as an amazing education.

Both schools will provide me with a great education but apparently Tufts doesn't have much of a party scene in terms of greek life, parties, etc. Can anyone refute this?

Also this might be a really shallow factor to consider in a school, but apparently Tufts girls are not very attractive at all while on the other hand at Colgate, they are very good looking.

So at this point Tufts will give me a better academic experience, but I feel like Colgate will give me a better social one. Can anyone who knows about the social scene at Tufts tell me if I'm wrong?

At Colgate, your social life will be at Colgate. Period. There is nothing else in Hamilton, NY. Schools in remote locations tend to have heavy greek/party scenes because without them, there is little else. Colgate is very preppy compared to Tufts, and lack of diversity is a serious issue (e.g., a substantial portion of the African-Americans are on the D-I sports teams).

Tufts is different. Besides being a research university (Colgate, despite the name, is really a LAC), it is located in Metro Boston so your social life is not limited to campus. There are a huge number of colleges and universities in the area (Harvard, MIT, Brandeis, BU, BC, Northeastern–just to name a few) and all of the things a great city has to offer–from clubs, music venues, professional sports, museums, parks, etc. If a young person doesn’t have a great social life as a college student in Boston, there is something seriously wrong with him/her.
