<p>Well, it varies. I’m sure I missed a few, but this covers a lot of it: </p>
<p>RAs starting August 18
Some sports teams around August 18 too
Some pre-orientation staff around August 20
Pre-orientation freshmen at August 22
Some more pre-orientation folks at August 25
Orientation staff and some other folks at August 25
Matriculation is on August 28
Regular returning students on September 1
Classes begin September 3</p>
<p>To clarify: “sports teams” refers to returning students playing a fall sport, not incoming freshmen. Also, given the strict limits the NESCAC imposes on pre-season activities, I’d venture to guess that some/most of the fall sports teams won’t arrive as early as August 18. My child plays a fall sport, and the initial “captain’s practice” for returnees isn’t until something like August 25.</p>
<p>I remember seeing freshmen football players in the dorms as early as August 21, if my memory doesn’t fail me, and they might have been there before then.</p>
