I sat on hold for the financial aid department for over 20 minutes today before finally leaving a message. Of course, no one has returned my call. DD’s account shows a hold has been placed on her financial aid and there is no estimated financial aid showing at all under account activity. Last week, her scholarships and loan were showing under estimated financial aid. Looks like I am going to have to spend my afternoon off tomorrow driving to Columbia to try to get some answers. grrrrrr

^I would call again and just wait.

When I called the other day, I was on hold for over 20 minutes before someone picked up, but when someone finally did I was able to get my hold removed fairly quickly.

Finally got the financial aid thing worked out. Thanks to everyone!

So I paid the bill a few days ago. The scholarship was still “estimated” at that point.

They finally applied the scholarship after I paid, and lo and behold, now I owe them $1.92.

I knew I wasn’t going to get away with anything. :D

We also now owe .96 cents!

Wow. After reading this thread, my son checked his online USC bill this morning (we had paid it in full and he had a zero balance a couple of weeks ago) just to make certain there were no surprises. Well, he had an additional $360 balance due on his bill for engineering and technology fees - these charges, apparently, were added after we paid the original bill. I paid it, but I’m not happy about how it showed up so late. I’m glad I told him to double check that he didn’t have any additional charges.

^^That happened to us last year with some small fee that we didn’t catch until after school started. Thankfully not enough to cancel registration but now I wait until closer to start of semester to hit pay button.

With the big system computer switchover this year, I expect there are more hiccups than usual.
