Tuition Exchange for Fall 2024 (Class of 2028)

When did everyone submit their TE applications? I am wondering if I was late to the game with earlier this week. A few of the schools told me it was first come first serve

I had one additional question too. Normally a student would be the one reaching out to admissions.
If a school gives a student a deadline, and they would need tuition exchange to decide would the parent reach out or the student asking about TE? Would a school look down on a parent reaching out even with the fact their kid has limited knowledge about TE and the finances of everything?

@SportsNSpreadsheets I did our schools application in August. I don’t think you are that late. Most schools haven’t even given acceptances yet.

Aren’t most schools an acceptance by May 1st ? I would think that is plenty of time to get the TE decision. I hope someone else more knowledgeable can chime in. This is my first time trying for TE so I am still learning.

What deadline did the school give and why? You don’t have to commit until May 1. By then, you will know if you got TE. There is no harm in you (or you helping your kid) craft an email asking the school TE person for an approximate time/date when they will begin reviewing TE applications so that you can plan accordingly.
If you are being given an early deadline for something like sports, then tell the coach/person you are dealing with in athletics that you are waiting to hear on TE. Let him/her give them a push.

Wanted to add that TE prohibits schools from requiring a decision on acceptance from students before the deadline of May 1. When we were going through this process with my D20, a few schools had to be reminded of this by the TE org, IIRC.

There are a few schools that do that, but I would think that would be listed on their TELO page. I touched base with one of my son’s top choices last week, and the TE liaison told me that due to FAFSA not opening until December, their TE decisions would be moved back by a few weeks. I think the changes to the FAFSA will make it hard for many schools to offer TE this early in the year.

The program is extremely limited and we were told that once they reach their limited amount of 15 for that program that you are then waitlisted for that major.

Husband and I sat down to complete the TE application last weekend. At the end of the week, he got emails stating the the applications have been forwarded on to the importing institutions. S24 is still working on applications but hopefully those will be done soon.

My workplace has sent in the tuition exchange for 6 schools. Now the waiting starts…

S24 decided which 6 TE schools he would apply to today. Not looking forward to doing this process again. Went through this 2 times before for D18 and S21.

D24 added one more TE school to her list - Wentworth Institute of Technology. Looking at the info on the TE site, they are a “less than 10%” school, so I’ve cautioned her not to get her hopes up. Her stats do place her squarely above the 75% range for applicants, so…maybe…

Has anyone had any acceptances yet? Not for TE, just admission? My D24 got her first today for Temple. Pretty exciting but now the waiting begins for TE

Congratulations on the acceptance! None here yet, though my D24 just submitted her apps last week.

Congrats on D24’s acceptance @Acpurple22 . S24 has one one TE school, Pitt. He has been admitted and awarded a small scholarship there.

Congrats! Is it one of his top schools?

Congrats! Both just finished applying for EA schools very end of October. Twin A was accepted at Pitt w/merit OOS. No TE news.

My daughter just finished her applications at the end of Oct. and we hope to start getting some feedback soon. Our home school is Pitt so I hope she makes it in there but it is a stretch! If that doesn’t work out this is going to be a much harder process.

I did hear from one TE school that they make their decisions in January so it is nice to know our paperwork went through and their timeline.

Yes, he likes Pitt but there will be a deluge of decisions in January.

We’ve had a lot of acceptances(applied at a lot to increase odds for TE) and they’ve had 2 TE acceptances so far.

Waiting to disclose the schools for TE though since I’m not sure if things are tracked on here, and we’re waiting for their number one pick which I assume we won’t here until March?

My kids applied to mostly smaller schools on the east coast

I figured we can add to excel dads spreadsheet at the end too.

Wow, so you have already received TE acceptances? That is amazing. I had no idea they would be giving those out already. Congrats! Can you give if they are full tuition or a set rate, without giving out school names?
