All but one we applied to was full tuition or their tuition was right around the set rate amount anyway. The two she heard from were full.
Also I wrote here and not hear above and canât correct it
Received our second acceptance to Seton Hall. My daughter is excited and they gave pretty good merit. We will still need TE to afford it though. I need to look at the excel sheet to see if anyone received it last year from Seton Hall. I really wish they would send TE right at the beginning with acceptances. It sure would help my stress level
Darn, neither Temple or Seton Hall are on the excel sheet.
@Excel_Dad can we add to this sheet for the 2024âs?
Weâre hoping for seton hall too. My kid got in to their direct admit pa program but itâs expensive even after merit.
I guess weâll all be adding Seton hall to the spreadsheet this year
Yes, we do need to. I know another parent had said they were trying for TE at Seton Hall as well.
Just last night I was trying to relay this to my D24 that we wouldnât be able to afford without TE. I also am trying to have her find just a few more TE schools that have a better rate for giving out the award just in case. She has already applied to several schools but I have a feeling they are going to be hard to get.
I have twins applying for TE this year. My oldest, S21, applied and got TE at Seton Hall back in the fall of 2020. He was awarded it right away. His stats: 4.12 W GPA, top 7% of his class of 800, 1360 SAT (superscored), great LOR, average to above-average extra curriculars (Link Crew, varsity sport, Educators Rising, part-time job), although it was during COVID so hard to compare. Wishing you lots of luck!
Good to know! Did he apply early action? Do you remember how long it took to get a TE award from them?
He applied early action and the TE came pretty quicklyâI think he knew by Dec 1? It was definitely before the end of the semester and one of the first offers he received. Have you reached out to the TE coordinator and let them know itâs a top choice? I have heard of people doing that and in some cases it helps. Just a thought.
I really hope your daughter gets it there!
We also have twins applying TE this year! Good luck!
Same to you! Itâs quite a process to do this with one. With twoâoh boy
Definitely! Like finding a needle in a haystack x2 but lots of memories with the tours and discussions. How many are each applying to?
We just received another acceptance for one not on the excel sheet, Alfred University. This is one we havenât toured yet I need to find some more info on it. It does look like it gives out more TE awards, so that is good.
This is stressful enough with just one child. I canât imagine you all with twins. Wish you the best!
One is applying to 15 and one to 10. Twin A (15) is very high achieving academically and is casting a wide net TE-wise. Twin B (10) is a solid student but probably less likely to get a lot of TE offers. His top choice is an in-state school where he already has a pretty nice offer, so that takes some of the stress off.
I loved the tours! Because of COVID we didnât get to do too many with our oldest son, so we really took advantage of these this time around.
Twin B and I toured SLU this past August and sat in on a business school presentation with another set of twins (we were the only ones there). I remember feeling an instant bond with the momâso tough to navigate this with two at once!
Ah yes, that instant understanding is awesome! Your twinsâ profiles sounds very similar to ours. We were limited somewhat by their preferences so have slightly fewer apps (7TE/3non TE Twin A and 8TE/2nonTE twin B).
Congrats to your son on the state school acceptance! Looking forward to hearing how it goes for everyone.
Someone on last yearâs tuition exchange thread (class of 2027) reported receiving tuition exchange from Seton Hall (posted by 0Jester0 on Jan 21). You can search the thread for Seton Hall.
I did go back and quickly read the section when people were getting their TE decisions. Looks like around 4 students got TE at Seton Hall. Very good news.
I asked seton hall about tuition exchange and they said it was on hold for fasfa still, Unless I misunderstood
So that would suggest that Seton Hall awards TE based on âdemonstrated need,â or at least that is a major component of the selection process which is not the case at other schools - who use gpa, years of service, proposed major or some other criteria (or combination thereof) as the selection criteria.
