Delaware announced its tuition increases for 2010-2011. OOS state tuition will increase by $2000.00 for a total of $24,240. This is a little above a 9% increase compared to last years rate. I'm glad my daughter graduated this year. The bills are probably in the mail or in emails to parents. This info is from the Delaware web site.

I called financial services yesterday. Bills will not in the mail. Will only be emailed (make sure your S/D gave you access to e-bills!). I was told the e-bills may be late and, if that is the case, that there is some leeway with the August 1 deadline. There are many options for payment.

Also - students who are taking federal loans will receive info via their UDel email around July 12-14, with info about how to accept them, including the promissory note.

The person I reached at Financial Services was really really helpful. Really helped through this first time around tuition payment process. Hope the e-bill is as clear as she made it sound!

Ok, so can someone tell me how we see the e-bills? What does my son have to do so I can see them?

We are going to NSO on Friday, so I am hoping I will leave with more information.

Would you happen to know if there is an in-state tuition increase as well?

In-state tuition increased by $500.00 to a total of $9,040. Total for in-state tuition and fees will be $10,208 for 2110-2011. Total for OOS tuition and fees will be $25,408 (tuition only-$24,240). This info is all from the UD web site.

In-state also went up - I think $500 - check out the article on the UD website.

To get “parental permission” your S has to log on and grant permission - there is a link on the site for him to do it. Since my D is working out of state this summer, and hardly has any computer access (sleepaway camp counselor), she gave me all her passwords :)

When you go to NSO, if the student hasn’t already granted permission they’re encouraged to do so while there. The financial presentation for parents is very informative (although the beginning is also an ad for PNC Bank).
