Tuition increase

FYI -
Undergraduate tuition at Northwestern University will increase 4.4 percent to $41,592 for the 2011-2012 academic year from the current year's $39,840, University officials announced this week.

Room/board/fees will also increase 4.4%.

And how nice that the first notice of this increase was received by the students, as in not the parents who I assume, in 99% of the cases are footing the bill.

Financial aid is increasing more than tuition.

There were rumors that some State schools in financially-troubled states would have to raise tuition up to 30%. Are any schools actually having to follow through on that?

Does a school re-setting tuition after completing binding ED resemble bait-and-switch, and/or does it happen all the time?

Tuition increases every year at every college I am aware of. You can take that to the bank. ;)

FinAid +13%

Tuition +4%

9% win heh

… but only for those who actually GET financial aid!

Ignore rumors; get real info.

State schools still generally have the mandate to educate all the state’s kids, so the wealthy still subsidize the poor (yes, lots of shades in between), such that the poor don’t see much, if any, increase.
