Yea under “academic records” it still says “Freshman” with 0’s under every category (credits earned, taken, GPA). I’m not sure who to email about that.

and yes that’s the lab book. I don’t know why I didn’t look for that on amazon. When I was checking my required books only my Chem class had a book with an access code (CH102) but I still decided to buy the book online. At my CC there would be classes with codes but the bookstore sold them separately. You can buy them with the book and get a small discount on the code but you’d still be saving money buying the book online and the code separately. Hopefully Clemson sells the code separately.

Speaking of meal plans: I’m only planning to buy 3 meals a week on campus. Looking at the meal plans it looks like I’d be losing money if I purchased even the commuter plan. Do meals “carry over” to the next semester?

I don’t think Clemson sells the code separately, that’s part of their money making scheme.
Actually, I don’t remember where I found the lab book but it was either Amazon or half.com. I bought the textbook and the access code too from the bookstore because I couldn’t find it anywhere else (CH 101 and CH 102 use the same textbooks)

I don’t think meals carry over to the next semester. Where are you going to eat more next semester? The dining halls are the only places that take “meals” (Harcombe, Schilleter, and Clemson House) and I can tell you that I am already starting to get sick of the dining halls (despite only eating 2 meals at each dining hall). The on-campus dining facilities that aren’t dining halls are very expensive if I remember correctly. I remember seeing a sandwich sell for $5 at a convenience store and the food at the on-campus dining locations tend to be on the high side. If you are going to be eating mostly off-campus or cooking your own meals, I might just skip the meal plan overall.

Let’s say you buy 3 meals a week and you pay by cash, that’s about $311.4 for a 15 week semester. In addition to the tiger stripe money that comes with the commuter plan, that’s $611.4/semester. Even though you eat less meals, you aren’t going to eat more with the meal plan. My suggestion is that you skip the meal plan and just pay for the meals with paw points (1 paw point = $1 except you don’t pay tax with paw points).

yep that’s right
Where do I purchase Optional Paw Points?
To open an Optional Paw Points account, simply make an initial deposit of $50 or more (in increments of $50 ranging to $300) at the Tiger 1 Card Office in Fike Recreation Center. You may open an account or add to an exsisting account at any time during the semester. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. You also can call (864) 656-0763 to make a credit card transaction.

Feel free to keep thinking about it, that way we don’t miss anything

My leg feels really sore from biking 44 miles yesterday so I’ll probably be on the computer the rest of the day figuring out this college stuff haha

SOcal, under my academic records it shows the same thing, that i’m a freshman i think i’ll give it a couple days before i call. Also where are you from in California? I’m from Orange County, New Port Beach.

Where are you guys finding what books you need for your classes?

oc430, if you go to sisweb.clemson.edu
click on Webregistration and then fall semester
you should come up on the schedule you registered for at orientation (by the way, you can still edit it if you find open classes that you like better and drop ones that you don’t like)
at the bottom of the page with your schedule, there should be a link that says “Order My Textbooks” or something like that and a list will come up of all the books you need for your classes.

OC - I’m in cypress right now. I’ve lived in mission viejo, laguna niguel and laguna beach past few years. I’m transferring from Orange Coast College.

Pierre - Thanks, i’m probably going to buy some paw points.
