I thought that the tuition bill was suppose to be on line today. I just looked and nothing. Anyone know anything?

It said that THE EARLIEST tuition would be posted online is July 14th. However, the room and board costs are going to be confirmed at the board of trustees meeting on July 19th so it would probably be unlikely that the bill goes up anytime before that.

Tuition bill is posted :)

yes! got that prediction right

just to let you know, if you want to add a meal plan (which you do) or a PO Box in the mail office (if you want to get any mail), you need to go to the university bill, go to the bottom of the page where it says “Manage University Account” and go to the bottom of the next page where there will be options to do that.

I’m looking at $16,600 for this semester including books, good thing it isn’t more.

No suprise there, you were right Pierre lol.

I did not know you had to pay for P.O. Box for mail…so if you dont get this you cant receive mail? Also, once you check that you want it, is it automatically set up for you?

Tiger Stripe Account? Pros/Cons…yes or no?

PS…$16,405 without books …thank goodness my daughter just graduated, one at a time is better (not good, but better ;)

yeah if you don’t get a PO Box, where are they going to send your mail?
or as an upperclassmen nicely put it when i asked him about the PO Box: do you want mail next year?
They should probably set it up for you and give you the key after you pay for it but i don’t know the specifics.

TigerStripe = money that you deposit onto your students Tiger 1 Card (student ID he got at orientation) and you can use it for laundry, off campus dining facilities, buying textbooks stuff like that

Paw points = money that you buy from dining services that is also on your Tiger 1 Card. However, paw points and TigerStripe money is NOT the same, just too different accounts. You use Paw points only at on-campus dining services run facilities like Fernow Street, East Side Food Court, convenience stores run by Aramack. The advantage of using paw points over cash is that you don’t pay the 7% sales tax with paw points and if you buy $100 or more worth of paw points at a time, you get a 5% discount (so you could pay $95 for $100 worth of paw points).

by the way what meal plan are you thinking of getting? I am thinking of getting the unlimited plan. (btw, the unlimited plus plan is a rip-off)
or the Any 15 Plus plan since I may not have enough time in my schedule to eat lunch

Why are the unlimited “plus” plans a rip off? That is what I have for JT right now. If I agree with you, can I still change?

Alright let me explain (I may be missing something here so correct me if I’m wrong)

Unlimited Plan: $1,321
Unlimited Plus Plan: $1,495 (includes $175 in paw points)

Now lets say you get the unlimited plan and separately buy $175 in paw points (by the way the difference between the unlimited plan and unlimited plus plan is $174). Since the paw points purchase is greater than $100, you would save 5% on the $175 purchase which means that buying paw points separately would cost $1,487.25 saving you $7.75 haha

just keep the plan you have right now and don’t bother changing haha, unless you want the $7.75 savings lol (sorry I’m thinking like a frugal college kid right now)

I love frugal! I wish my kids knew the word! haha

So do you think it is a good idea to get Tiger Stripe money or will a debit card serve the same purpose?

hmm that really depends on what you think JT will be spending money on

here’s a list of places you can use the TigerStripe account on-campus: [Clemson University : Where is TigerStripe Accepted On-Campus? : Where is TigerStripe Accepted On-Campus?/url

and off-campus: [url=http://www.clemson.edu/studentaffairs/tiger1/tigerstripe/offcampuslocations.php]Clemson University : Where is TigerStripe Accepted Off-Campus? : Where is TigerStripe Accepted Off-Campus?](http://www.clemson.edu/studentaffairs/tiger1/tigerstripe/oncampuslocations.php)

I got a Bank of America Red Sox debit card yesterday (tried it out today at staples) but I don’t really know how many times I will need it since you can go to Bi-Lo, CVS and other off campus stores and use the TigerStripe card, I’ll have to see what my spending figures are the first month of campus and decide from there how much to put in my debit card vs. tigerstripe

Hahahaha…JT just got his Bank of America Mets card last week…(be nice now, remember 1986…well you werent born yet but I’m sure you’ve heard lol)

haha of course I know what 1986 is but we forgave Buckner on opening day all that matters for me is the present and eh the last few years haven’t been too kind to the Mets

got that MLB card because of some special thing you could do with Keep The Change? (don’t exactly remember), would’ve gotten a Clemson card if they actually had one out of the college cards they offer

Same here (keep the change). Also wanted Clemson card.

Last question on the Paw points vs Tiger stripe…

Why is it better to use paw points for campus dining rather then tiger stripe?

(I noticed Tiger stripe is good for many, many more places/things than Tiger Stripe.

Last few years for the Mets have been dreadful! I guess you figured out where I got my name from lol…

Well if you get a meal plan, you only need to use the paw points to buy from non-dining hall facilities (anything other than Harcombe, Schelitter or Clemson House). If you use paw points, you do not have to pay the South Carolina state tax (7%) while if you use any other payment, regular TigerStripe account or cash, you will have to pay the 7% tax. It’s really confusing but your paw points are stored on your TigerStripe card. However, if you have Paw Points on your TigerStripe/Student ID card, it will take from the Paw Points account first instead of the tiger stripes account when you buy from the dining halls. (Are you following me so far? it’s super confusing)
it’s good that im trying to explain this to you know because I have yet to explain it to my parents
here’s a site explaining about the paw points a little more: http://www.campusdish.com/en-US/CSSE/Clemson/OptionalPawPoints/

But yeah there are tons of places where you can use the TigerStripes card like downtown at Moe’s or Subway, if you want to get groceries at Bi-lo etc…

I’m supposing that your username is after Mookie Wilson who hit that famous ground ball in 1986? haha
he’s actually from South Carolina and played baseball at USC (University of South Carolina)

Anyone know how to see what your official class is. I transferred from a community college after two years. Have at least 60 credits that transferred but it says “first year freshman” on the SISWeb. I’m not planning on buying a meal plan so i’m hoping they don’t automatically sign me up for one thinking I’m a freshman.

p.s. I’m $13,294. That’s without books, meal plan and parking permit. My books came out to about $150. Ordered old versions on Amazon for really cheap. My chemistry lab book was by far the most expensive at $75. That was the only one I bought from the school bookstore. If you’re looking to save money I recommend doing the same. Through my two years at a CC I never bought a new version and didn’t have a problem at all. Probably saved close to a $1000. If you’d still like to have the newest version you can still get them for cheaper online.

if you go to SISweb, go to “My Academic Record” and it should say your class standing. I think 60 credits would make you a junior?

Socal55, did you have to buy the “Cooperative Chemistry Lab Manual” (by Melanie Cooper who interestingly enough teaches chemistry at clemson haha). They sell it for $75 at the bookstore but I found something cheaper at Amazon.
My book total is gonna end up to be $400 even with Amazon, there are tons of bundled packages that I need for my classes (that come with special codes and stuff you can’t find elsewhere) that can only be sold at the bookstore so I have no choice but to buy the packages.

Pierre, you have cleared it up for me perfectly. I am dropping the Plus on his Unlimited Access plan and I will then add paw points (at least $100 to get the discount :); then I will get some Tiger Stripe money added also!

And yes that is where my screen name originated…I wanted Mookie1986 but someone already had that I have been a die hard Mets fan forever because my dad was a Brooklyn Dodger fan and that meant we hated the Yankees…something Im sure we have in common :)
