I recently was scrolling through Tulane’s admission requirements for Louisiana students and noticed that they changed their ACT requirement from a 28 to a 30 and also a 3.5 GPA to 3.6 GPA? I am really upset about Tulane making this change. I don’t know if I even have a shot at attending Tulane now. I might have to start looking at other options for college
Now if you are looking for scholarships to attend Tulane those are on the lower end for the bigger scholarships but will qualify you for some of the lesser scholarships.
The current status for GPA and ACT are only for guaranteed admissions so that doesn’t mean you won’t get accepted if you have a lower ACT or GPA you just aren’t guaranteed admission.
There is a long standing agreement between Tulane and the state of Louisiana for helping in state students attend Tulane.

@successful92 I dont’ think you’re screwed. Just because the numbers are raised, I don’t think it means that Tulane will not even consider you if your scores are lower. Of course it probably would be easier with higher scores, but most schools give more holistic review. It all depends on what kind of courses you are taking and what kind of extracurricular activities you participate in. So, while you might want to try and raise your test score and GPA, you shouldn’t just give up hope. Also, writing a good essay and visiting campus helps in showing your interest in school. If you are set on Tulane, I’d recommend ED. That shows you ARE very much interested and even if you don’t make the cut the first round, you’d be deferred to Regular decision so you have nothing to lose.
