anyone having the time to join the chat if you could post information for those of us who arent able

He said they are preparing a FAQ that will try to address the multitude of tuition scenarios.

He also said a transcript of the chat will be posted online soon

I believe the transcript will be on the website on Monday. Here are some items I remember from the chat. (Please don't hold me to this, as I certainly could have mild-to-moderate memory lapse). He said[ul][]Tulane will hold spring semester on campus starting January []restoration of the campus has begun []Tulane could be restored in 6 weeks if there were water, sewerage and power []he answered many tuition questions and there will be a tuition FAQ on the website, I believe on Monday [] if you are taking only a few credits, you will receive a partial refund []there will be Orientation for Class of 2009 in spring []damage to the main campus was largely in the form of debris, some missing roof tiles, etc. - not a lot of water damage[]scheduled Admissions presentations around the country will continue as planned, but the October campus tour is cancelled (obviously) [*]if a student chooses to defer fall 2005 admission to fall 2006, s/he will not have to re-apply[/ul] I'll post more as I remember it

jmmom- thank you so much. The timing fell smack in the middle of pickup time for my younger kids.

A few more things I remember (some humorous) [ul][]the "bubble" (temporary food service/bookstore) survived - one questioner said he had a "bet" on it [] the new student union (under construction) was unharmed [] Rush will take place in spring []he also answered a number of questions re faculty/research []University College campuses in Biloxi and Elmwood will be holding classes in October; regular Tulane students can also take courses for credit on those campuses [] one student asked if Tulane might change its name from "Green Wave" to "Mighty Hurricanes"; Cowen said that made him smile, but he feared another school already has that name trademarked ;)[/ul]

Thanks so much! We had to be out, too.

I now have two Tulane juniors living in my apartment in Nashville at Vanderbilt. It happened really by chance and emails from my parent and my roommates parents. We have a three bedroom apt off campus and we were contacted and asked to house two girls from who happened to go to a listing of sororites who would house Tulane or New Orleans students who wanted to continue their college education. We have a three room apt off campus and through our sororities we got emails. Vanderbilt has completely accepted them as students ( I think they call them visiting but really it doesn't matter). Yes, it is crowded in our apt but really it is great. Our sorority house is only supposed to house our officers but now things or somewhat lenient in that respect. Our sorority house now has 10 people living there where we used to have only 4.

We had a large apt so we took in some great girls. It is horrible about the destruction of New Orleans. It will take decades to rebuild that unique city.

I pray for the city. I hate the destruction. We must help the people.

ITs funny because TUlane is coming to visit my school soon. LOLz.

FYI: Tulane has posted a FAQ on tuition issues (Sept 12th update)
