Tulane EA 2025 Decisions

Mine too.

Totally makes sense. Just sad as the schools don’t know what each kid is thinking. Top ranking kids sometimes don’t want an Ivy League school.

are anyone’s buttons not gone? Cause if we all don’t have them then I don’t think it means anything.

I’m missing something?! Where would this EDII button be? I only see the four “received” items in the App Checklist, saying they have everything
No ED II, would it be there?
Otherwise, below that, are only test scores, optional portfolio, and for my son, the SLA description
 Then on the right, scholarship/Gibson/contact
Where would the EDII button be? I know, I know, I should just wait until tomorrow! Lol

I wish everyone would stop worrying about portals and buttons and whatnots. You are driving each other crazy. We will all know tomorrow 3:30 CT, and almost certainly not before.

It says “If applicable, the EDII option will return after decisions are released.”
There we go. Doesn’t mean anything!

Is anyone’s fully gone like it was this morning or does it just say "If applicable, the EDII option will return after decisions are released.”?

Mine has the message now

Mine is gone and has the message, but if that is a direct quote by @asdfgabjkl and @BC10012 then mine is worded differently. Same idea, but not same words. Mine says:

If applicable, the option to switch to Early Decision II will return here after Early Action decisions are finalized and released.

yeah that’s what mine says i just didn’t remember the exact wording oops

Tulane’s EA applications are up 11% this year. If you read Jeff’s blog (http://tuadmissionjeff.blogspot.com) it sounds like there will be a huge number of deferrals tomorrow. He wrote bc they have such a highly qualified pool this year, they have accepted 4500 LESS students than three years ago.

I’m so nervous for tomorrow, I just want to be accepted, is that too much to ask :sob:

also keep in mind that Tulane yield has gone up a crazy amount compared to 4-5 years ago. still a scary stat tho

Below is from the Director of Admission’s blog, published yesterday. Does it sound like deferring EA applicants and then encouraging them to switch to ED 2 is a method to lock in more tuition & fees?

[I’ve Been Deferred. Now What?]

Tue, 12/15/2020 - 11:00

December 17th is almost upon us. If you’ve applied to Tulane for our Early Action round, you’ll be getting a decision from us in the next few days. For many of you, that decision may be: “The Admission Committee has chosen to defer final action on your application until our regular review period this spring.” You’re probably asking yourself: “What now?” So, here are my steps for helping you through this process.

Step one

Step two: what does being deferred mean? In essence, being deferred means that we need more time before making a final decision on whether or not to admit you. Your application will come back to the admission committee in the early spring and will go through the same review it went through in Early Action, but this time you will be up against other deferred applicants, as well as the Regular Decision pool. There are two major factors that will come into play from here on out: one is within your control and the other is not.

There are a number of things that you can do to strengthen your application to Tulane, and a few things you shouldn’t do. Here are my Dos and Don’ts for deferred students:

DO: Complete the continued interest form on your Green Wave Portal. This is the most important way to let us know you are still interested in attending Tulane. It will be nearly impossible to be admitted to Tulane if you do not complete this form. We know your plans sometimes change, your list might shift going into the spring semester of senior year, etc. We’d like to only consider those students we know still have a genuine interest in enrolling here.

DO: Consider switching your application to ED II. This is for deferred EA applicants only (and for first time applicants.) You can get more info here. The deadline is January 8th which gives you all winter break to decide with your family if ED II is right for you. Keep in mind that if you are relying on a merit scholarship to enroll at Tulane, ED II might not be the best option as the merit aid pool is limited in this round (but need-based aid remains the same for every admitted student.) One other point that I think is worth mentioning is that this year, the majority of ED II applicants will only be getting the following decisions: admit, admitted as a spring scholar, or denied admission. We felt it was not in our applicant’s best interest to put an ED II student on our waitlist, thereby drawing out this process. If you are denied admission ED II, you can move along to other schools and put the focus on other regular decision applications.

Hope this helps you deferred students out there. Best of luck!

It sounds like too much and a big stress on applicants to deal with this.

sounds like a heck of a lot of deferrals.

Therefore, this blog article will guide some deferred applicants into ED II.

Tulane’s (like many other schools) big on demonstrated interest to keep their admission rate low and their yield rate high, which is why they have EA + ED 1 and 2. DO NOT apply ED2 unless you’re certain you can afford Tulane.
