@Maggiepl09 How did she find out?
Can you please get more details from your friend of a friend? are you sure she didn’t apply ED? what state?
@Maggiepl09 ^^
@freshmesh167 @conflictedcollegegal6789998212 @IvyLeaguer225 So I don’t have a ton of details. I have a good friend who is a freshman at Tulane, and her roommates friend from back home (Boston) applied EA and just heard back. I’m not sure if she heard mail or online, but I would assume via mail. The friend @ Tulane texted me last night asking if I had heard back since she was hearing EA applicants have stated hearing back.
@Maggiepl09 Hi is there any way you can find out if it was by email, portal, or mail? Thanks and congrats to your friends roommates friend!!!
@acceptedman just confirmed w her, it was via mail.
Does this mean letters have been sent out?
Anyone else get a letter today?
Do you know if the person who was accepted received a full tuition scholarship or anything like that? I’ve heard that sometimes colleges admit students a little bit earlier if they are giving them large merit aid.
@ksuser2022 I don’t think that could be the case, as the only full tuition scholarships are the DHS and PTA, and the results for those aren’t released until late February. After that I think the largest merit aid is the $32,000 Presidential Scholarship, but I’ve never heard of people being notified early like that
Clearly there has to be some kind of miscommunication as it doesn’t make sense for one person to randomly be accepted 2-3 days before the letters are meant to be sent out
@princessbex13 I completely agree. I have multiple friend from different states and no one has received an EA letter yet
@princessbex13 that makes more sense. I also am in the same boat- I know quite a few people who applied EA from different states and have not heard back. Also, I live in a state that is a lot closer to Louisiana than Massachusetts (i think that is what state she said), so if they would have sent letters out by mail early I would assume that me and others in close states would have also heard back too?
I’m a Louisiana student, and I know for sure there are at least a few students who actually already received admissions decisions and financial aid packages. A friend of mine from just outside New Orleans was admitted today and awarded a full ride scholarship as a nominee for POSSE New Orleans. As I said though, I am from Louisiana, too, but no word yet for me. So it makes sense if some students from programs like POSSE find out earlier than the rest of us.
That may be true–I’m out of state so I haven’t familiarized myself with how things work for in-state applicants
My D is an international student, waiting for EA decision. Apparently posse students get the admission decisions earlier.
Were they ED or EA?
Keep in mind that students from Louisiana have an advantage. If they meet certain criteria they are “Guaranteed Admission”.
I doubt it has changed from the update of mail by Dec. 17th, but just call the admissions office if you are that anxious. They’ll tell you if they’ve started mailing.
the 17th is a Sunday @ProudMom2022 so no US mail will be sent out. I heard it was changed to the 15th which is a Friday
