Tulane EA/ED Decisions Class of 2022

My opinion is Naviance doesn’t show the year of acceptance. It could be several yeas ago when Tulane was less competitive.

3.9 unweighted GPA, 31 ACT.
Several DE classes and EC’s.
Envelope postmarked Dec. 14th.

@la congratulations!!! If you don’t mind sharing, did she receive any merit scholarship?

$30K/ year and invitation to Tulane Honors Program.

@sierramg900 Some guy got in for spring 2019 with a 1230 superscored sat

Oh shoot so they sent them out Thursday!! Congrats to your daughter! What does the acceptance look like? @la

@la so you’re daughter received the letter in the mail, but was her portal still not updated?

What does the acceptance package/letter look like? Is it a regular letter or a package sized letter?

Wow, congrats to everyone who’s receiving their letters! I’m from Texas so hopefully (fingers crossed), I’ll get my letter tomorrow. If not, waiting another day isn’t too bad.

Anyone know if it’s USPS or another delivery service?

I received my acceptance letter yesterday. I live in Louisiana. (1400 SAT, 4.12 (w) GPA, heavy ECs)

@EAisStressful Mine was a thin beige 9x12 envelope.

Green Wave Portal not updated.
Envelope is 9 X 11.5 light beige colored delivered USPS.

@EliteFire Did you receive any merit aid? We have similar stats.

5k per year (Leadership Award) @WiscoRunner

Can y’all that are being admitted share a little bit about your Why Tulane? and common app essays, rec letters, demonstrated interest levels, etc? lt would be really helpful and give some peace of mind. Congrats to all that have been admitted and Roll Wave!

@ksuser2022 I actually took a major risk with my Tulane essay and wrote about my more elite institutions. I started the essay by listing more elite schools I am applying to and then my “thesis” was that Tulane was fundamentally different. I explained how Tulane was close to home, has what I want, and I know the faculty. I also talked about one of their summer programs I adore and how that program could help me do what I want. Furthermore, I emphasized Tulane’s proximity to downtown NOLA, great aid, and interconnectedness with New Orleans. (8/10)

My Common App essay was good (10/10). It talks about a personal issue I dealt with in high school and how that issue fundamentally changed me as a person.

I had two AP teachers do my recs:
AP GOV: really basic & generic. (7/10)
AP Spanish: I cried reading this rec. It was just beautiful. (11/10)

I had an additional recommendation from my acting teacher and another from my ballet/jazz/modern teacher.
I am unsure whether Tulane read my acting teacher’s rec. He sent it in on December 8, 2017. I did not read either.

ECs: I have variety and depth. I do what I want, not what I think looks good.

Demonstrated Interest: I know some faculty in the arts department. I have informally been on campus to see musicals. I have emailed my admissions counselor a few times. I did a College Admissions Masterclass with one of the Tulane essay readers. I know many students at Tulane. I did an interview that went really well and lasted for about an hour. My interviewer and I really connected on a few topics, which was quite nice.

I did not apply for financial aid, and many other kids from my school EA’d.

Take my advice for a grain of salt: My friend wrote an essay that trashed Tulane, and he got accepted. I won’t say too much, but he had many, many, many other things going for him. His essay may not have mattered.

Have SAT 1420 but only 3.8 ish W GPA. So worried.

Best of luck, everyone!! Hoping for good news!!

im anxious as hell!!! jus wanna hear

I took a risk applying to Tulane EA because my test scores aren’t high, but my GPA (weighted and unweighted), extracurriculars, recommendations, and essays are really good. So I’m extremely nervous – hoping for the best!
