Tulane EA/ED Decisions Class of 2022

What does it say if it is available?

It was available a couple of days ago (maybe Wednesday?) because I was looking to see what was required to switch. Can anyone think of any reason they would pull it for some and not others except if it was pulled because of admission?

Well honestly the safest bet would be to either call the admissions office and ask or wait until the letters come in the mail.

I talked to an admissions counselor as well and they said those they considered unqualified would be rejected during this round with most of the applicants being deferred into the RD pool if not accepted.

This is from Tulane University admissions blog: “schools are actually not allowed to require you to make that decision any sooner. Here at Tulane, you have nothing to lose by applying EA. We give you a decision pretty quickly, its non binding, and we don’t often deny admission to EA kids. … You can still apply rolling to other schools, but not EA”

@chappmom5 It has spaces for you to fill out your first and last name, your birthdate, a place for you to upload the EDII decision agreement, and then a blank where you type out your full legal name (to act as your “signature”).

so wait im a little confused - we’re thinking that if the form ISNT available, that means those people are in? and if it IS available, we’re guessing that means they might not be in? (obviously i know that this doesn’t necessarily mean anything, im just trying to understand what people are thinking)

Yes, @lydmatts. If admitted there would be no reason to switch to EDII. If deferred, that would be many people’s next step. So, it’s a theory, but only a theory. It’s better than no theory at all and just waiting!

@lydmatts I think that seems to be the general consensus. Which I guess makes sense, because if you got in EA already, why would you need to switch to EDII? Conversely, if you got deferred in the EA round, then switching to EDII might be a good option for you if you want to show your commitment to Tulane. However, it could be that it’s not showing up for people who got rejected, because if Tulane doesn’t think they’re a good fit at all they obviously don’t want to give them the option to apply EDII. Or it could be a glitch. It’s hard to tell.

For everyone that doesn’t have the option to click the ed link do you think you definitely got in?

I want to call and ask but would they even answer right now?

I do not have the ED II option (it says it’s unavailable), I actually accidentally clicked on it about a week ago and it wasn’t there either. I don’t know if I for sure got in but I think I have a decent shot… slightly above average stats and was asked for an interview that i think went well so i’m hoping

@emily18 Probably not, since it’s a Sunday, but I’m sure if you call tomorrow they’ll answer. You could also email them, but I think you’d be better off waiting till tomorrow and just calling during normal business hours.

It’s not showing for me and I don’t think there is any way I would have gotten a straight up rejection with my stats, level of interest shown, etc…If anything, I believe I would have gotten a deferral. I would be seriously shocked with a rejection…but, stranger things have happened when it comes to admissions.

I didn’t have the option and I think I have a pretty good shot at getting in. 32 act and 4.0 W gpa. i take mostly APs and Honors classes and have a good amount of extra curriculars

mine says unavailable. I have stats to get in, I just didn’t realize expressing interest was such a big deal until too late.

When do you think I will receive the admissions letter in Southern California?

It doesn’t work for me, and I have the stats to get in, but I am most definitely not confident that I have gotten in. I guess you just never know, but this is very stressful!

I have a feeling that everyone is going to get letters tomorrow or Tuesday, maybe both

god i just want to KNOW
