Yesterday my daughter received a congratulations notice from Tulane University that she was admitted into their early admission program and they then sent her a new student ID and login information. Needless to say, she was ecstatic. She posted the news on social media and began receiving multiple congratulations from other students and their parents. Over three hours later she received a notice from Tulane Admissions that the notices of acceptance were sent in error. It took until today to connect with their office and learn that they indeed screwed up and she was NOT admitted to their EA program. She is now devastated and too embarrassed to even return to school. This in my opinion is inexcusable actions from a university of Tulane’s reputation. Please be warned to not believe any notices from them until they can be confirmed through admissions and in writing.
yeah, happens every year somewhere it seems. It sounds like your D is now deferred, not rejected. The worse ones are the mistaken acceptances to kids that are rejected. See http://time.com/3637980/college-admissions-mistakes-johnshopkins/
I don’t see why your D is embarrassed to go back to school. She relied on info from the school, it wasn’t her mistake.
