Obviously I can not comment on Emory but I think the workload at Tulane, as with many colleges, comes down to time management. You will have some easy classes and some hard classes. If you do not procrastinate and stay on top of your work - not leaving things to the last minute - Tulane’s workload is manageable.

Agreed. It also depends on your major coupled with your own talents. Most people would say the the STEM majors are harder. But if math comes easily to you and writing is a chore, your experience will differ. Some people find foreign languages very challenging while others seem to pick them up in their sleep.

Of course the above would be true at any school. I rather suspect you would find the difficulty at Emory and Tulane to be pretty similar. To the extent that classes are graded on a curve and therefore you have to keep pace with your classmates, you might have to work slightly harder at Emory, but again I think this difference will be quite small.

Jazz1005, I am the parent of two current Tulane students, one a freshman and one a junior. They had the same ACT score (34) and both were ranked in the top 5% of their class. One finds it more difficult than the other - both are pretty diligent, but sometimes things come easier for some people than it does for others. So the answer to your question is that it really depends on the individual.
