Tulane trying to improve retention rates

I'm posting this primarily because I think FC will find it interesting. I was visiting S2 this week and he remarked that a university official (sorry, no specification) came to his fraternity and asked if there was anything the university could do to help increase the size of the fraternity. He said their data show that frats have higher retention rates than the campus as a whole and then university knows that to increase it's ranking, it must do something about retention. It will be interesting to see what programs are put in place the next couple of years.

While in NOLA I was able to eat Squeal Pie (similar to shepherds pie, but with pulled pork) at Squeal BBQ, amazing appetizers, a great seafood dish, and bread pudding at Jacque Imo's, an amazing breakfast of poached egg and pulled pork on a jalape

LOL, sounds great. I put on 2 pounds just reading your post.

Tulane has been very focused on retention (and graduation) rates for the last few years, and they have made great progress. It is now around 91-92%. They really want to see it get to 95%, from what I hear. Obviously the higher the better, but I think that is the target.

This sounds like another tactic being implemented, which is good. I think a strong communication link between the frats (which have been out of control in a few cases in the past) and the administration can only be a useful improvement.
