Tulane Writing Statement

I am a student who has already applied to Tulane University for EA. After applying to 8 colleges and writing 4 different essays, it seemed to slip my mind that Tulane had a writing statement. Once I realized this it was already after the deadline to alter anything. Though my grades and activities seem to line up with the average accepted student and my common app essay clearly explains who I am as a person, do I have much chance with having not written the “optional statement?” Thanks in advance to whoever responds.

Even though it says “optional”, it’s not very optional. It shows a lack of interest and Tulane is really big on demonstrated interest. This may cause you to get deferred.

I suggest you take some time and write a nice Why Tulane Essay, detailing why you are interested in Tulane - something specific about a program, professors, something you learned on a visit or something specific to you and send it to your Admissions rep. Its can’t hurt!
