Did your classmate that got rejected receive prior acceptance to UT CS? Just curious if they rejected if the student was placed in a different major.

I will also ask other classmates that got the under review message but never got UT CS to see if today was a rejection wave

My son did apply to UIUC’s CS as well but UT is his top choice with Turing though
Same for us as well but it is good to have a variety of options.
It seems as if it was only a few people today who were rejected
I’m glad none of the regular posters here, or their kids, are among those! There is a silver lining with being in limbo I suppose.

Not sure if I survived the cut today but I will be hesitant to reveal the outcome this late as it may reveal our identity to UT. 
Still under review. Guess no chance to attend go to Turing event tomorrow
Oh I completely forgot about that. I wonder if that means they aren’t planning on admitting anymore kids or if they will have another event later?
There is a second in person event end of March, but it is optional for those that attend virtually tomorrow.
Edit- I don’t know the composition of the discord server but I wonder if they intended the majority of attendees for tomorrow to be OOS anyway. Assuming that those in state may elect to attend end of March in person. There I go again trying to find logic within UT (which has burned me before 
).

It’s an interesting theory and it would make sense- but as you said with UT, we will never know their intent with anything haha
