Turning down Northwestern for ... ?

<p>Its between Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, And MIT (1st choice)</p>

<p>cny06, i'm in the exact same situation as you, although I only got wait listed for Northwestern :P, I think I'll attend NU if they accept me though (I'm writing a letter right now asking for just that acceptance because they're my first choice school), because I want to study engi more than the econ that I would be studying at GU. I really only applied to GU, because my dad's an alum there and he wants me to go, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I went to NU in the end which would be awesome !</p>

<p>Ummm.........well I really like NU, but right now it is between NU and the Honors Program at the University of WA (I got a big scholarship there + instate tuition) so we'll see.</p>

<p>not sure if I'm turning down NU, but my other options are Columbia SEAS, Cornell Engineering, or Case Western Reserve University (with between $25k-$30k in scholarship).</p>

<p>and there is then again a bit of chance that I will end up at NU</p>
