I still have to start working on my application but the one thing that has been stopping me is that I'm not sure when I'm going to turn it in. I'm using Apply Texas and the application start date is August 1st. What would be considered late? People are always telling me to apply early. I was going to wait until school started so I can run for an officer position in some clubs or until October, when I get my new SAT scores (taking it a second time). I don't want to put it off too long due to course registration/housing. Thanks in advance!!

There is nothing wrong with turning in the application in October, especially since information that you would like to send will not be available until then. Just make sure that you are aware of the university’s deadline for applying to their school and honors programs (if you plan to apply).

@xxmarilyn okay, thanks!

It depends. If you are planning on applying to UT or A&M for engineering or business October will be pushing it. For other majors you may be OK. Applying early helps sometimes.

My son will be submitting his in August to both schools.

@Kldat1 Yeah, that makes sense. I’d like for the school year to start so I can add extra stuff but I see what you mean. I’m applying to both UT and A&M’s engineering schools too.
