Tutoring Employment

I'm a high school senior, and I'm interested in making some money tutoring this summer. I have good SAT Scores and excellent grades. Anyone have experience in tutoring? What's the best route to start out? I sent in an online application to Princeton Review and Kaplan, but haven't gotten anything back yet from either. I hear the application process at Princeton Review is rigorous, but that it's possible to earn a solid wage there. Any suggestions?

What do you want to tutor? I'm a math tutor, I work through my college's math center. I get people asking me for private tutoring pretty regularly. You will probably have a better chance of getting hired by a company like Kaplan, etc, by having a little experience under your belt. Try posting fliers around campus. You can also go to area community colleges and post fliers there.

What about in your own school - through your own "private tutoring" practice. I'm sure you have classmates who could use some help. Its more entrepreneurial too!
