TV in dorms

I have a regular tv with a digital tuner. I tried it today and I get zero signal.

I read in a thread that I should get a coaxial cable, but where would I plug it in? In the antenna slot?

You plug the coaxial cable from the coaxial port in the wall to the coaxial port in the back of your TV.

a coaxial cable is just the regular old standard cable so that you can get cable TV. If your tv is less than 20 years old, chances are it is "cable-ready" and you can plug the cable directly into the back of your tv and into the wall. Everyone watching tv through cable tv will still receive signal when the digital crossover happens in February. (Only those using analog antennas will have to worry about the digital switch. If you want to use your tv's digital tuner, you'll have to get a digital antenna)
