Cable in Dorm Room

I'm going to be moving into my university in 2 weeks.

My dorm room requires a coaxial cable to get cable. What's the difference between a coaxial cable and a coaxial video cable? Could I use either of them to get cable in my dorm room?

theyre the same thing.....

They're the same thing, one description is just more specific.

is it worth paying like 30 or 40 bucks a month for cable in your room?

I dont think so. I have never watched tv in my dorm.

A lot of schools include cable in the room for free. They run their own cable service, tapping directly into the satellite feeds for the broadcast and cable networks... sometimes that means you can get the 'pre-broadcast' feed where instead of commercials you see the anchor picking his nose during the break.

we have free cable
it BETTER be free cuz my parents r paying a crapload of money for the dorm

My dorms are going to have free cable, though I'd rather have a cheaper room fee than "free" cable, especially since I don't even know if my roommate and I are going to bring a TV at all.

My dorms have "free" cable as well. I'll probably bring a TV, but I don't know how much any of us will watch it.
