Twin Dilemma in admission?

This is so desperate! My twin sister and I are Co-valedictorian who are attending the same high school, joining the same academic clubs, (club co-presidents of our 5clubs) and making the same grades and receiving the same competition awards.. Even our PSAT scores are extremely close.( around the 2000s) Will this situation be a disaster/disadvantage for us if we apply to the same Ivy League schools?

Oh my god this is like my worst nightmare (although i am not a twin :stuck_out_tongue: ). I mean, you guys seem to be uniquely close in terms of your profiles, so im not sure if there is much precedent for this situation. But if you do apply to the same competitive schools, i predict only one will get into each. Its tough, but when colleges are looking for a well rounded class, they aren’t going to use a spot on a person who is incredibly similar to one theyve already admitted.
Im sorry :(

Simple! Just don’t show each other your essays until after you’ve applied.

Adcoms will make the connection and I’ve seen cases where they want to take both. It’s just so hard to predict admissions, in general. Good luck.

My school had this pair of twins. Both of them had 4.0’s through highschool and both of them, funny enough, got a 2250 (with different break-downs) - they both took the same subjects, had the EXACT SAME EC’s (simply because they worked on everything together) - same teachers, same recommendations, both their applications were the same.

They both applied to the same schools too.

One goes to Princeton, the other to UPenn - both RD. I can’t imagine you having much of an issue, goodluck!

By same recommendations btw, I mean recommendations from the same teachers…

Recommendations from the same teachers? Wil that make our chances worse?

Our school had twins. One was valedictorian and the other was ranked #3. Both got into Stanford.

In addition, I won some academic competition awards in extemp and debate in my freshman and sophomore years, but they are just meetings, not official district ones, can I still put them on my resume? (they’re 1st speaker awards or octo/quarter finalists)Will they have any effect on admission at all?
