Would it matter if I got a Twin bedsheet set instead of Twin XL? Would it still fit fine? I saw a good bargain in this store, so I'm gonna snatch it up if it works.

it will not fit. especially if you mean a fitted bed sheet. a twin comforter on the other hand works just fine on the twin XL

I bought regular twin bedsheets from Bed, Bath, & Beyond and they fit the twin XL bed just fine…so idk.

This may help showing the sizes:

You’re still not covered on the length part. I suppose you could get a flat sheet and just be really careful with that extra 5", if you really, really want to save money.

channel_26: How far off was it? Did it barely cover the bed or was it actually short by a chunk?

I know BBB sells some that are “Twin/Twin XL”

I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you really want to save money, then go ahead. Most of the Twin sheets (not saying all of them) won’t fit on a Twin XL bed.

Xlong twin mattresses are 5 inches longer than regular twins. However, at orientation I noticed that the mattresses are about 1 or 2 inches thinner than the normal ones. That would explain why regular twin sheets still fit because of the extra fabric that you will get from the sides. Does that make sense to anybody?

The sheets I had(XL) were pretty snug.

Target has twin xl sheets for like $13

If you buy regular twin sheets that have deep pockets (fits up to 12" thick mattress) you might be able to stretch them out over an XLong mattress. Maybe that’s what Grassbandit has.

you should have thought about this ahead of time and taken a regular twin bed sheet to try them out at orientation.
