So I understand that Penn State and the Schreyer's program have distinct applications; however, am I supposed to send both of them at the same time? If I've completed the Penn State one, can I send in the Schreyer's one a week or two later? Will I get a decision from the University as to whether I got in even if I haven't sent my Schreyer's application yet?

Thanks!

Yes, you can submit the Schreyer application after you have submitted the regular PSU application. As long as the Schreyer application is completed by the priority deadline (along with the recommendations) you’re fine. (By the way, both my daughters did that and they both were accepted into Schreyer)
You will receive a decision from PSU before you hear from Schreyer. The Schreyer decisions come out at the end of February.

Thanks!

Does anyone know what Penn State is looking for in the activities section? Compared to others I’ve seen, there’s is very open ended.

Do they want me to tell them what I did? Do they want to know why I joined each of the clubs? Should I be taking this from more of a “personal experience” view or from a “List your awards, honors, etc.” view?

IIRC - my kids put in a list of their activities and then talked about one of the activities in their essay and/or personal statements.
