I recently decided that I might want to go to Penn State. I want to major in astronomy and astrophysics, but to do so optimally I would need to get into university park and I'd also like to go into the honors program. Assuming I have the credentials to do so, is it worth applying even though I already missed the priority deadline? Thanks in advance for your responses!

Yes!

Yes. I found out yesterday that my Mother’s friend’s daughter applied about two weeks ago and got accepted. Oh…and was accepted into the honors college.

Uhhh, PERplexD, your mother’s friend must have mixed up the schools. The Schreyer Honors College at PSU does not announce acceptances until the end of February/beginning of March; when all applicants to SHC are notified at the same time.

@PERplexD If your mother’s friends daughter applied after November 30 and already was accepted a lot of people’s heads on CC are going to collectively explode.

My D got an email today from PSU telling her to apply, and that it is not too late. So, yes, go ahead!

Apply… apply to Schreyers Honors too although at this point I heard the personal interviews are all booked but they aren’t mandatory and you never know. Nothing to loose applying to Schreyers except a lot of time on the essays which my son says was the most time consuming application. Schreyers notifies in March and it is a very competitive program to get acceptance into.

Penn state has rolling admissions.
