Two stupid questions about transfer process

Hi, everyone. I have two questions about the process. It maybe seems quite stupid, but I believe it's not unnecessary. Thank you for your posts. Any help is sincerely appreciated.
1) Which address do you write on common application forms? Your current dorm address in college or home address? I think choosing home address is not convenient, but filling in with dorm address means you will receive many letters from other colleges...It's a bit weird.
2) Is it a wise choice to choose a college with rolling system as a safety? But I dont know much about which colleges hold the rolling admissions. Are there anyone can provide a list about that?

Thank you again! :)

I dont think those questions are stupid at all. As far as the address question, they need too know where to send the acceptance/rejection/wait list letters in may/june. Given that, i suggest that you put your home address b/c there is a chance that you will have already left the dorm by that time. I don't know much about the second question. But I have a question for you, is the common transfer app available now? B/c i checked yesterday and it was not available.

Is there someone at your home address who can alert you when mail comes in and then forward anything important? I don't think there will much of the latter since so much is done online these days. If there is someone there, I think you can use that address.

I assume no one but you sees the mail that comes to your dorm address, so you could also use that. But if you'd be uncomfortable picking up other school's big envelopes when you walk to the mail boxes with friends, I can see why you'd want to avoid that.

Re choosing a college with rolling as a safety - a thousand times yes if there is one (or more) that you like. I'm not personally aware of a list of such schools. I think the typical process would be more to identify what type of schools you want, in a range of selectivity, and then check each of their admissions time frames. Ideally, one or more of those will have rolling.

If not, post here what you are looking for and maybe others will know of a similar school with rolling transfer admissions.

Unless someone else knows of the Rolling School List ;).

Thank you Rhode for answering my non-stupid questions. :D
For Commonapp question, deft. you are right. I heard from someone that Commonapp won't be available until next month. But sorry I'm not so sure about that information yet.

Thank you Andale, you are always so helpful here! My target schools do not have rolling admissions through their websites. However, one of my targets(Gtown) says they encourage to apply as soon as possible. I'm not sure if it means the rolling admission. I totally agree with your words about choosing colleges, and that is what I did. I think I have found several colleges I really love already. It's the time to search for safeties now. :)

Although a tentative date is not available, i anticipate the commonapp to be available before end of july (as i think it was last year)

I can realize getting looks as you goto the mail room to pick up your mail for other colleges, but I had told my firends all about my desire to transfer, so I dont think I was worried. besides, it rather amuses me now that I think of it, but i was rather pleased if i carried mail from mit or stanford to my room for some reason last semester. And most colleges have auto mail forwarding to home address during holidays, so unless ur an intl student, you may list dorm address as perm address or vice versa if your not comfy with other people looking at your transfer mail

As long as you like the school with rolling policy, go ahead and apply as andale said, and that said, apply as soon as they start accepting apps for best chances of admision and aid

Thank you rahimahs. As an incoming freshman, I'm quite not sure to begin Commonapp so early as it opens. Because I think the target schools will think I dont give a chance to my current college which may be ruin my chances. This problem really make me confused. However, I dont know what do you mean by "appaly as soon as they start accepting apps for best chances". Thank you for your time. :)

Its actually a typo. I meant "apply as soon as they start accepting transfer apps", which is usually Feb 1. This is also recommnded since some schools may award all their fin aid to freshman (altho some like dartmouth agree to be need blind) soon after this deadline
