My counselor submitted my school report and transcripts hours after the REA deadline. The servers were down and she could not log in yesterday.I sent an email to the undergraduate admission office explaining the situation. But,they have not replied yet.I am freaking out now. Will my case be considered since I submitted my application on time?Does anyone know anything about this matter?Or will my application be considered for the RD cycle?
Moreover,I am not being able to register for Princeton's Application Tracking System. The page says that the email adress and PIN provided do not match the ones provided on the application. But,I checked and rechecked a hundred times that they match.I am in a muddle.Someone ease my conscience.
Thanks

Hey! Don’t worry. I am in the same situation, my teacher did not submit my recommendation. Just so you know, I get the impression that colleges are VERY accommodating. Just call up Princeton on Monday and explain the situation. As long as you submitted your half of the application, everything is fine. They don’t penalize students for irresponsible counselors and teachers.

Make sure everything gets in ASAP though.

And yes, it did not work for me either. The reason is that it takes Princeton two days to receive your app and process it. In two days you will get a confirmation email from them, confirming the receipt of your app. Then you may try and it should work.

Don’t stress. It’s all gud.

Do nothing. Don’ t call.

No one was sitting in NJ last night wringing their hands uttering a maniacal laugh about all the apps that flowed in after midnight that were destined for the reject pile.

Relax.

Okay, then.I’ll wait for their reply and stop worrying.Hopefully, everything will work out just fine.
Thanks a lot.

@Fairmaple, you would probably be surprised at how “chill” the admissions department is at Princeton. Remember that every year they deal with around 26 000 mostly nervous applicants, many of whom are convinced they have ruined their own admission chances by somehow submitting their application incorrectly or forgetting to do something. If you have e-mailed them stating the issue you had to deal with, it will be noted in your file if it is of any concern. Think of it this way - they do want to see your application and it will be Monday at the earliest until the slightest movement happens with your app. They want the best applicants to become Princeton students and if you are on their radar they are not going to panic about the time on the date stamp. And if you’re not, the time isn’t going to change anything.

From what I remember of the tracking system, I think it took a few days before we could access the information online. Give it 2-3 business days and if after that time you still cannot access your file, send them an e-mail asking for some assistance. Chances are you will be able to log in shortly.

Also if I may give you a word from our experience - the log in tracking system lags SIGNIFICANTLY behind real time. We panicked (and called admissions) because my son’s test scores still hadn’t been received by the due date according to what we could see online, even though we had definitely sent them well before the final date. They were so relaxed and kind and said not to worry - the scores would come. And they were right.

@Cantiger I don’t mean to hijack this thread, but I was just wondering where you and your son could see the status of test scores on the Princeton App tracking website. I sent my test scores in quite late, but the Princeton App Tracker says that my application is totally complete. There is no mention of any test scores missing. Thanks!

My son applied in 2011 and is now a junior so it’s been a while and I can’t recall those details clearly unfortunately!!! From my now foggy memory I think it had check marks beside all the components and a separate list of what they were still waiting for. So every few days it would update with newly received information (teacher recs, test scores etc).

Your deadline was a hard deadline. Usually the deadlines for GCs, teachers are a little “softer” since they know a student cannot control when they hit the submit button. I wouldn’t worry.
