Tylenol Scholarship 2011

*Application period: February 1, 2011 – May 27, 2011
Award recipients announced: August 15, 2011
10 applicants will receive $10,000 in scholarships
30 applicants will receive $5,000 in scholarships *

I wonder if they’ve notified the med students first. And, I wonder if they get the $10k per year???

My undergrad friend was notified. No luck for me, unfortunately. Wish I knew how they judged for semi-finalists, at the very least.

If the deadline is 6/22, then all of the semis have been notified. I would assume they give at least a week for transcripts.

I spoke with Tylenol today. The CSR that I spoke with advised that emails will be going out this week to everyone. Whether you were selected as a semi-finalist or not, you will be notified. Good luck to everyone who has applied. This would be an amazing scholarship to recieve & could truly help a lot of students out there! :)

emails will be going out this week to everyone.

This seems odd. Does this mean that some semi-finalists will be notified this week? Or does this mean that those who didn’t make it are getting notified this week?

edited to add.

from Tylenol…

Semi-finalists were notified June 7, 2011

The customer service representative that I spoke with yesterday stated that, “Emails will be sent out this week.” I asked, “Will emails ONLY be sent to those who were selected as semi-finalists.” The customer service rep said, “No, we will notify those who were selected as semi-finalists & also those who were not selected.” My understanding is that if you applied prior to the deadline you will either receive an email stating that you are a semi-finalist OR you will receive an email stating that you have not been selected.

I emailed ISTS (they manage the Tylenol scholarship) last night and they replied this morning saying:

"Dear Student,

Thank you for contacting ISTS Customer Care, it is our pleasure to assist you.

The Tylenol© Future Care Scholarship program does not send e-mails to students not selected as Semi-Finalists."

–

RNreeves, did you happen to contact Tylenol directly or ISTS?

I had contacted Tylenol Scholarship directly via telephone on Monday; I spoke with a customer service representative, she indicated that “winners” and non-winners" will be notified via email. I called them again this morning to verify this information and again they confirmed the above. They advised that the emails will be sent out by tomorrow. Hoping that this is accurate. Good luck! :)

I am a semi-finalist, just wondering if anyone has heard if the finalists have been chosen yet?

I read online that finalists will be notified approx. 2 months after the deadline. Hence, we have to keep our fingers crossed until July 27! All semi-finalists who are not chosen as finalists will be notified around Aug 15. Whew, I’m nervous. Good luck to everyone

I called Tylenol and they said finalists will be announced around JULY 22!

That’s Friday! Good Luck everyone!!! If anyone hears, please post ASAP! I will too!

I’m a semi-finalist as well! Good luck to everyone else awaiting finalist notifications :)

So I called Tylenol today…AGAIN…and I was told that finalists notifications will be sent by JULY 27th…there is no set date. So one person told me 22nd and now this one told me by the 27th! Whew, we just all have to keep our fingers crossed until the 27th (two mnths after the deadline), as I had originally said!

The suspense is killing me! I called last Wednesday and they told me last week of July or early August to notify winners. Everyone I talk to at Tylenol gives me a different story … but oh well … Good luck everyone!

I was notified via email today that I was lucky enough to nab one of the scholarships. I’m very thankful for it, and good luck to all you other semifinalists! Hopefully good news will reach you soon!

Congrats :)

didn’t win. I’ll try again next year.

Didnt get one either. Congrats to the selected. I was wondering, any way those who received a scholarship could post their stats? (GPA, what type of school youre in/going into, experience, etc.)

Congrats again!

I was a recipient this year, didn’t get it last year and my app honestly didn’t change too much.

GPA at top 25 ugrad: 3.9
P/F at medical school (we are ranked however and i’m in the top quartile)
Publications (accepted, in progress, etc), multiple abstracts (4-6 i think)
Multiple scholarship awards in ugrad and medical school (school-wide, county, national, total of probably 20? can’t remember)
Lots of research experience and lots of extracurricular in ugrad

Good luck to those applying next year

I know this was last years thread but I was selected as a semi finalist this year. If selected as a recepient will they request an official transcript, my school is notoriously slow (even if i request it online) with processing transcripts so I want to do this early and avoid putting myself in a situation that may affect my eligibility.
