As the title says, what would a typical day at Princeton look like? Of course, courses and EC's differ greatly from one Princetonian to another but I would like to know how many courses a regular student has every day, how long these courses take and how much time is left for EC's.

Will I be able to study hard, spend 1,5 hours at the Climbing Gym and work the 1-2 hours that make up my campus job every day? How much time do students need in order to get from the classrooms to the residential colleges, from there to fitness centers etc? I am interested in approximates, of course.

It’s hard to talk about an average daily schedule because class schedules vary a lot from day to day - I have one hour on Tuesdays but five hours on Wednesdays. Rather, I look at everything on a weekly basis. If you manage your time well (and by that I mean at least as well as I do, which isn’t very well), you should have enough time to take care of your classes, about nine hours of work a week (the typical job expectations), working out every day, a reasonable EC load, and plenty of sleep. I’m in five classes this semester (P/D/Fing one) and don’t have too much trouble staying on top of them as well as working out for about one and a half to two hours five times weekly, six hours of work a week, and a couple of relatively light EC’s, and I average eight hours of sleep a night.

The longest walk from a college to class for freshmen is probably Forbes Addition to Friend, or to the E-Quad if you have a lab there, which I would estimate takes almost 30 minutes. If you don’t live in Forbes, the longest walk to class you might have is Holder or Hamilton to New Frick, just over 15 minutes. The farthest dorm from the climbing wall is Holder at about 20 minutes also, but I make that trip two or three times a week. Dillon Gym is very centrally located, maybe 10 minutes from Forbes and closer to everywhere else. My longest walking day is Holder to Fine and back and then to Friend to McCosh and back to Holder, maybe 45 minutes total if I were to walk rather than ride my bike. Here’s a map so you know what I’m talking about: [Campus Map - Princeton University](http://etcweb.princeton.edu/pumap/)
