I'm a USC prospective and just want to know what everyone's typical day is like...classes, what you do for fun, whatever :).

that depends on the day and the person's schedule...for me it's wake up at some point before 9:00 everyday, head out to class (no breakfast...i don't have enough meals for that!). then lunch and class...most days my classes will end before 3:00, but my long day ends at 5:00. between class there's time in between, but not enough time to do anything substantial, academically or socially. take a long lunch some days, i suppose. at night, lots of work, often times past midnight. i'll break it up with trips to the gym, etc.

days that stand out are Monday...math homework is due the next day, and that can take upwards of 7+ hours if i don't touch my math before that night. Tuesday, because i math is due that day, and often times i need to get help with a few problems. actually, as i speak my i'm working on math, which is due at 5:00.

Friday, i have one class...a math lecture at 9:00, so it's not much to worry about. so what that means for me is a fun Thursday night, which is typical of many students...Thursday is a party night :D usually, earlier in the night i'll attend a classical music concert with some friends at Bovard Auditorium or Newman Hall. then i either hang out with friends, have jam sessions (i play guitar), or...party of course. Friday can sometimes entail partying but less so.

Saturday...if it isn't a home game, wake up at 1100 at the earliest...maybe do a little work, then a lot of times get off campus to somewhere like Hollywood (via the bus system of course...hectic, but tolerable). Sunday for me is even more lethargic and filled with work.

Typical day for me divides into monday weds schedules and tues/thurs schedules. Monday and wednesdays end @ 5 for me while tues/thurs end around @ 2...

I usually wake up around at 9 (or sleep through my alarm sometimes) and goto some class... after that I hurry to grab lunch (eat at commons or EVK)and if i have time i'll find my friends to eat lunch with but i usually don't have time. (or they have classes so mismatching schedules.)

On mondays I finish projects that are due on tuesday studio class and on tuesdays I finish up projects that are due in another studio class. Other than that, i don't do much work during actual week... which is bad.

I usually eat dinner around at 6-7 with bunch of people I eat with everyday. ... and then after that we hang around until 12-4 if i don't have anything major thing due the next day.(hanging around until 4 is not a good idea but)

I work on thurs and saturday so sometimes i miss the game on sat, which really sucks. But saturday games are a big deal so most people watch the game.... And we just hang around and stay up all night starting from thursday to sunday....

Ew, let's not talk about classes. Especially while I'm currently procrastinating on a paper.

Few days are typical. My schedule is pretty hectic; I have different stuff going on every day. For fun, I go to on-campus events, parties, sorority socials, etc. For example, on Monday we had Diavolo Dance Theatre perform at our auditorium (free for students!!!), and they were this AMAZING AMAZING modern dance troupe/cirque du soleil-type thing. I would've paid to watch that.

Halloween is coming up, and at USC, it's a week-long party, or so I'm told. I'm already planning on attending halloween parties, helping out at multiple carnivals, and setting up a haunted house.

My dorm has events sometimes...for example, we had Westwood Invasion twice this semester, and we hopped over to Westwood decked out in cardinal & gold and munched on In-N-Out and Diddy Riese cookies and did some sweet shopping!

There's just so much stuff to get involved in...it's crazy. I'm on Building Government (it's like a dorm student council), a copy editor for the Daily Trojan (USC's newspaper)...and I'm just a freshman who's been here for two months (oh geez, it's only been two months?!)

I have sooo many random activities I didn't mention, so free to message me if you have any further questions. USC rocks, really. Hope to see you here next year and Fight On!

note: yes, I am a copy editor. please excuse the horrendous errors in this post.

How sad that you need to come to Bruin Central to have fun. Poor Trojans. :(

;)

so true, Cal State Westwood gets all the good off-campus food places. :(

^ "How sad that you need to come to Bruin Central to have fun. Poor Trojans. "
quoted for truth

Cal State Westwood? That the best you guys can come up with these days? C'mon...you can do waaay better than that.

Hey you're a moderator now. No taking sides.

No but seriously, In-N-Out was really really fun! A small group of UCLA girls came in, did a weak little chant thing, and watched as the whole restaurant burst into the SoCal Spellout. It was pretty funny watching these UCLA fraternity guys cheer for us. Damn traitors. ;) And there were these random (homeless?) guys being super sketch and shady while people were in line for Diddy Riese...it was actually pretty funny...so you guys should come over to University of South Central sometime (Ooh I just made that up!!! Yay me!). I recently found out that you can get mugged at 9 a.m. on 36th Street. Heck yes.

Yeah, I saw the DPS notice for that and I was kinda surprised it was so close to campus (and so early in the morning)

Funny, also, I've been hit up for money the same number of times near both campuses (USC/UCLA) even though I barely spend any time at all in westwood...

I think generally homeless people like to stick close to places with more activity and people, which is why you see more of them in Hollywood, Westwood, Downtown, Santa Monica Promenade, etc. But we do get some sweet gang wars. Wow, this thread is so completely off topic.

lol, so true. "Prospective USC student" starts out thread, and all we do is talk about how the food is better at UCLA, and getting mugged and/or hit up for money from homeless people. :)

That's not a typical day at USC :)

Typical day:

Wake up, go to the bathroom. Watch as half-naked hot guy goes into a stall as I wonder which girl he belongs to. ;) Go to class five minutes late, sit through a boring lecture in which I pretend to pay attention and take notes. Go to Trojan Grounds and get a tall, iced chai with nonfat milk and a turkey provolone sandwich. Hang out in my room. Attend another boring class. Hang out in my room. Go to dance class. Procrastinate on paper by going on facebook. More procrastinating. Start paper at 12:00 AM. Wake up the next day tired, and so the cycle goes.

TOMORROW'S THURSDAY THOUGH!!! It's goin' DOWNNNN.

Begin writing my share of a 10 page business paper at about 6. Sushi break at TroGro at about 9. Work a few more hours until one. Go back to dorm room, play a game of beer pong using table taken from the lounge. After game, begin to write paper again, but interrupted by drunk roommate stumbling in with girl. So as to give them their privacy, go to library, which is where I am now, finishing up my paper. :)

Work hard, play hard.
