Typical Friday Night

Hey, I'm still curious about the social life, but I figured I'd ask it in a different way.

To current Columbia students: What is a typical friday night like? I imagine it varies, but on average, do you start off by just chilling with friends around campus before departing into the city? Do you get a call every now and then about a party on a particular floor (however frequent or rare that may be)? Do you leap onto a subway as soon as you can and meet up with friends and some particular spot in the city?

Explain. It'd be most helpful in figuring out what exactly goes on there.

Depends. I don't go but I've spent some time with friends there and for freshmen, it's generally:

7-9: "Campus" activities- concerts, club meetings, other various errands
9-10:30/11: Pre-gaming, finding friends to hang out with, figuring out what to do
11-2: Barhopping at the 'Stend, Nachos, Mona, Morningside Heights bars (sometimes kids opt to go downtown, but most stay in the area)

I see, yeah, that's exactly the type of answer i was looking for.

But is the like party scene centered around bars and such? I know there aren't frats or wahtever, but are there some things within the campus, like in the dorms?

Hmm. Well I mean, people will definitely hang out with their friends in dorms, and watch a movie, or play pool, or have random (usually lame) dance parties in rooms if they don't feel like going out. Beirut and hookah are pretty popular. What do you mean? Like organized official activities or just hanging out?

haha actually im not really sure what im trying to say. thanks though
